Is downloading torrents from nyaa safe on linux mint if I only have firewall on? And what should I do if It's not safe?

Probably best to run antivirus on that puppy. I can recommend Norton. It will cost you about $200 per year, but isn't that worth the peace of mind?

Most malware would be aimed at windows and won't work on linux, so it is safer, but otherwise there is no difference.

There are firewalls for linux mint?
Uhh, look for trusted uploaders if you're just getting anime and manga and don't install random VNs or games unto your system without at least checking with virustotal.
