I was recently given an ultimatum to get the jab or be unable to attend my family's Thanksgiving, since the more elderly members can't handle getting sick at their age. I've gone this long without getting it, but this may be my grandmother's last Thanksgiving and I haven't seen her since this all started.
What are my options? Do you think they'd buy me just having a bandaid on my arm, or is there something else I may need?

You could offer to quarantine yourself for two weeks before the gathering.

Then don't attend it. Because let's face it, you clearly don't love your grandma enough. If you did, then you wouldn't let one vaccine shot bother you.

If your beliefs mattered that much to you, you would stand your ground. Lying is for cowards and weaklings.

Either make them accept you as you are, or don't participate at all.

Do you actually have a good reason not to?
If you mean a flu shot, go fucking get it.
If it's for covid, avoid the mRNA vaccines those are the ones known to give blood clots all over the body if you're "very unlucky".
