Come discuss the worship and conjuration of Ishtar, Inanna, Aphrodite, and historically related deities. However you work with the Queen of Heaven and her entourage, you're welcome to discuss here.
"Appearing in more literary compositions than any other deity, Inanna embodied endless complexities and contradictions: an unbridled goddess at once upholding and destroying the status quo; a passionate goddess engaging in romantic and destructive erotic love; a heavenly goddess who trod the underworld; a feminine goddess who was sometimes portrayed as a bearded warrior; and a mercurial goddess bestowing tender mercies even as she moved freely from one conquest to another."
"[Inanna's] cult had to already be widespread before the third millennium in order for it to have the extent and significance it does as soon as we have a clear look at a given period.
There are symbolic connections and structures linked to her worship as far back as urban centers go in the near east. There are reasons to think she also supplanted or inherited the role of an older regional 'mother goddess.'"
If you're interested in working with the Queen of Heaven, the best things you can do are to start meditating, making offerings, and maybe banishing too. Preferably do all three daily, or at least a few times a week. This will get her attention and improve your ability to communicate with her, as well as generally train your occult abilities. Eventually I'd like to develop a regime focused around historical and revealed techniques from Inanna, with the help of the thread.

Hello, I'm a Christmaxxing son of God and god in my own right.
What's the point of Ishtar? God doesn't lack anything.
>>40418794Man is pulled to his own faith, even within one's larger cultural influence, and you were pulled towards the historical Levant pantheon consolidated into the figure YWHW
>>40418835Yeah, I suppose that's true, nobody really "picks" what feels truer to them, that's in God's hands.
The nice thing about omnipotent Gods is they're not constrained to the narrow field that is their own pantheon, if God exists in any capacity and Ishtar exists, God made Ishtar.
My main thing is why not go to the source, I don't get it, but I suppose I don't need to.
Some people like pickles, I don't.
>>40418794Jews unironically answer this in your own pantheon as they identify God in many different aspects, each with its own name and own functions and what they are meant to address. Praying to gods is like that. From God's perspective things are on a different scale from what may be useful or of immediate concern, and we're not buddhist monks okay with living entire lives and dying for the sake of a 10,000 year plan to be enacted. So you address entities which are on more relatable scales for more relatable needs and concerns. You can argue "God can do it all," yes, but again consider the scale. A being of eternity is concerned with eternity things, if you ask for a perfect world God will set it into motion 100,000 years into the future because that is the same thing as now to it. That's not very useful. That is why occultists and others appeal to entities more on the same wavelength of operation. And also why God typically is consigned to purification and alignment magic and rituals, because that is where eternalism and purity shines.
>>40418902Hmmm, I think that's just misunderstanding what God is but I get why someone might think that.
Just to be clear though the God of everything is also the God of like...a random rock you might pick up. If that rock had a spirit like in animism/shintoism/etc praying to it is identical to praying to God in terms of practicality.
I just don't get the extra step, but again, I don't need to, it's like liking pickles.
>>40418926A better example of what I think he's getting at is, if you've prayed/asked for intercession from angels and saints, you've interacted with smaller chunks of the godhead rather than interacting with the godhead itself
>>40418952Yeah I don't get those people either.
>Mary do this>Michael do thatThe only one that makes sense is Jesus because praying to him is identical to praying to God the Father.
Anyway, I'll shut up unless someone has something else convincing, enjoy your Ishtar thread.
>>40418926The mage sees it as direct rather than an extra step. Think of it in the opposite way, if God is "God" and then "being of certain concepts" to "god of X" to "manifestation spirit of X" to "thing of this rock," consider the chain from God's perspective. That's a long line of petitions from God's authority. Now instead imagine just asking the animistic spirit of that rock utilizing God's authority. Direct line. If God is in everything, the authority is there to just ask the thing directly. It's less of a chain. I see why you may think that because God is God anything else is superfluous, but it is because God is God that everything hinges upon that just directly asking a thing works. Meanwhile the God of everything is a long line down to whatever particular you are considering.
This anon
>>40418952 gets it. It's very much similar to that. You ask the angel OF something or the patron saint OF something for that thing who works on God's behalf. It's far more efficient. God's authority is there already so long as you embrace the Holy Ghost (to cross traditions for a moment), you don't need God's intercession you need the intercession of the particular leveraging God's grace. This is also why there is so much usage of prayer and God when handling and compelling actual demons in grimoire stuff too but that is another topic.
>>40418972I guess it comes down to whether the individual perceives the rock or rock spirit as the actor or God.
For me, I'm asking God to move the rock and to God it's direct control, he does whatever with the rock.
To the mage they ask the rock with God's backing, feeling it is more direct.
ultimately it's just a matter of perception as we're both direct, the extra steps imaginary.
>>40418794ishtar when she calls you can't resist her. she's too strong. I spent 2 years fighting her but I'm giving in. I realized that the "weaknesses" I said I had were virtues. it almost becomes a need to kneel down every now and then and pray to her
>>40418971The (lower case) orthodox prayers for the Virgin Mary and the Saints are all the "ora pro nobis" ones, aka its like asking your family and friends to pray for you, the rest is unironically pseudo-polytheism but that is dying away as most Catholics and Orthodox (Protestants don't have intercessory prayer) are connected to larger bodies of theological knowledge and in general more educated about their faith.
Can she bring healing and restore my foreskin? What better way to earn my loyalty than to do a miracle
Didn't you guys have a Discord ?
Guys I need some music for the Ishtar worship rituals, do you have anything?
>>40420939a dead server... or not?, it is said that one brought it back to life by doing a raid, ishtar is powerful, she knows how to use even her enemies to revive the faith

>>40422767Ishtar belss you anon
>>40420939I didn't join it, but it really came across like they had no idea what they were doing, considering half the links would be expired by the time it got posted and they never seemed to actually be doing anything of value with the threads
>>40425840we can try again, we made a new server, maybe this is the right time, if you are of the cult of ishtar you who are reading and you seriously live this choice freaky or esoteric that you are... join, we must join forces and I already have some ideas to revive the faith.

>>40418527 (OP)I'm beginner. How do I start? Do I just pray that Ishtar shows me a sign or something?
What, a Roman Catholic thread? On my /x/? I would never!
>>40429231Highest IQ protestant
>>40429170It's difficult because, while Ishtar is powerful, you need to understand that she is Love, War, and Fertility. The pantheon, however, included the Anu, Marduk, Ereshkigal (though she wasn't publicly worshiped, but highly venerated), Enki, and many other gods to round out the other areas. If she is your singular goddess, then is she really a queen of anything in your spiritual circle? Being with Ishtar every single day is actually a pretty enormous undertaking, almost like taking a monastic vow. Round out your pantheon, and it will actually seem less daunting.
As for getting started, a shrine helps house the deity. You treat the shrine as if it was an honored guest. Sumerians and Babylonians believed that the gods lived inside the houses of their worshipers. There isn't really a set schedule like going to church every Sunday. You just approach the shrine and conduct the rituals. There's no priesthood of Ishtar to declare formal rituals, so it's just going to be you and her.
Asu-shu-namir thanks you, Ishtar, for your blessing and bears the curse of Ereshkigal in your honor. May that never change.
>>40431651If you're willing to twist a lot, it's entirely possible that she can be partially slotted into the "Whore of Babylon" rather than Lilith
>>40431651Iโm pretty sure Lilith is derived from Ahabโs wife Jezebel. Ishtar/Asherah/Inanna is about 2 millennia older, and almost certainly derived from Ninus/Nimrod/Sargonโs wife Semiramis (NOT Shammuramat, as scholars wrongly identify her).

It's definitely working as people have already joined
>>40429170You can do
>>40429184 or you could start by training your occult abilities. I recommend picking a kind of meditation like shamatha for instance, and to start making offerings and just sitting afterwards for a few minutes, receptive to communication. But if you wanted to get serious you could pick a path of mysticism followed by a path of magic both from the /omg/ OP, and work them until you get results
What do you guys think is gonna happen when you die? Sumerian afterlife low-key sucked
>>40441181I believe in reincarnation and eventually nirvana. If it helps, the ancient Indo-Europeans probably also believed in reincarnation
>>40441283Do you like reincarnation? I think the only form of reincarnation Id be somewhat okayish with is iseakai stuff
>>40441320Not really, it's pretty scary if you don't aspire for and gain merit for rebirth into a Pure Land. That's why I seek Nirvana through the practice of Buddhadharma.
It's still probably better than the ancient Mesopotamian afterlife though; at least if you're born somewhere shitty it will definitely end eventually
What's the best physical collection of Sumerian (or similar) myths? Hopefully including inannas descent
>>40421196https://youtu.be/8JtJKrqR7-E?si=QbEdFBdk4wlmgkCW
Particularly for all of you who don't like Solomonic grimoires, why aren't you working the Greek Magical Papyri? Aphrodite is just the Greek version of Ishtar. You want real ancient magic you can operationalize and get results? This is it. Examples to follow

>>40447156The Burney Relief is Ereshkigal, not Ishtar.
>>40446860You would be wrong. The Discord is full of historical resources. Most people are just lurkers, but we have a few legitimately serious people too
>>40447435If that's the case, why do you never bother to port it to the thread as a reason to draw people into the discord
>>40447446I don't understand what you want. The thread is full of historical resources too
>>40418527 (OP)>Lets worship a dumb bitch who got kicked out of Christ's kingdom. >>40447497That's a rude way to talk about the Holy Mother
>>40447494Half the links are ones I've provided because you couldn't be bothered to skim the archive for the OP text and the rest are things you've ripped wholesale from other generals. Come back when you have actual information

>>40434718I'm not the OP of this thread. I'm the original author of the OP.
>>40447503Mary was a perfect human spirit, as the father protected her from any blemish. What you're looking at is the kinda hoe that sucks your dick for bus fair and then walks home.
>>40447522Wrong. She is no less than the Queen of Heaven, with Mary directly descended from her historically
>>40447514Again, half of those are ripped from /omg/ and completely unrelated to Ishtar/Inanna or even the greater Mesopotamia pantheon. You're not reading what I'm saying and instead are just taking my distaste with your "faith" wholesale
>>40447531[citation needed]
>>40447537Goetia is directly preserved pagan knowledge. If you have better preserved and operational material, I would be very interested, but this is the best we have. I think I've demonstrated that we have people interested beyond a surface level, even if we don't have the perfect information access that you might.
>>40447542The True Grimoire by Jake Stratton-Kent talks extensively about this. Look for the section on the history of Astaroth
>>40447553>>40447537Also I'd like to point out that this is the Queen of Heaven general, not Mesopotamian religion general (not that it's off-topic, it's just not the only topic). This thread is about the Queen of Heaven and her retinue broadly, including Aphrodite, Astaroth, and related deities and spirits
>>40447553>The True Grimoire by Jake Stratton-Kent>Goetic MagicianAh fanfic. Truly, I am astounded by the depths and girth of your esoteric mastery
>>40447589The Goetia is its own literary tradition that preserves pagan methods of conjuration going back to the Greco-Egyptian Magical Papyri. You don't have to like it to read the historical analysis in the book
>>40447586>>40447553I'm not asking for general "pagan knowledge", I'm asking specifically for things specific to Mesopotamian information, as having to dip into Greco-roman mythology is a massive cop-out for a "Ishtar-Inanna" general. I'm sorry you're unable to understand this
>>40447609So you expect us to do research that you can't do yourself? We're not a church, and we're not here to convert you. The thread is a community effort. You want more ancient Mesopotamian resources, research them yourself and share them with the thread. I'm not omniscient and I certainly can't resurrect a dead tradition with no recorded operational resources by myself
>>40446860Not a lot of LGBT leanings, oddly enough.
>>40446355so what is the problem with that honestly I'm sick of all the ascetic shit
i'm up for coomer spiritualism atleast it is more life afirming and vitalist than budhism or chistianity
if it works and i get divine/ supernatural benefits or aid then perfect if not well atleast the cult practices are more fun and interesting
Its been like 4-5 years since I was first exposed to Ishtar and I still think she is a cunt (in both literal and figurative sense). And have not waivered even through harassment, torment, and attempts at reprogramming.
>>40453135Have you tried balancing her out with a masculine god?
>>40453135how is she as a deity ?
>>40453139There is no โbalancingโ out, this is a spiritual trap plain and simple, these people donโt even bother to read the mythology surrounding ishtar/ Lilith and instead go off goon-baiting and LGBT empowerment slop. Itโs genuinely impressive how open her followers are about their worship,trannies calling themselves Lilith, calling her โporn gxdessโ and so forth.
Pay no attention to these people, they arenโt even hedonists, they are simply masochistic torture victims, they donโt get any benefit or true relationship out of this.
>>40454526Nah, sounds like you need a masculine god, that she kept busy with that hunk instead of pestering you. This is how all the gods worked, you rarely wanted their attention to begin with. Worship Mars, he's keeps her very busy.
>ishtar/Lilith Ishtar != Lilith, Ishtar had Gilgabro cut down Lilith's tree and Ishtar made it into a throne and bed. You can safely ignore anyone who says they are same. She might be tangentially related to Babalon, but if you're calling Ishtar as Lilith you're pissing off the divine feminine and the dark feminine at the same time.
>>40454577>she kept busy with that hunk instead of pestering you.Thatโs seriously the most spiritually cucked thing Iโve heard.
>You can safely ignore anyone who says they are same.Yeah itโs probably inaccurate mythologically, the only reason I equated them was it seemed most people in this thread donโt make a distinction, I remember one of these threads being called ishtar/Lilith and it being about the same entity.
>>40454717>Thatโs seriously the most spiritually cucked thing Iโve heard.Ah yes, having another god swoop in and take a goddess's unwanted advances is cuckoldry? Unless you got a hatefuck relationship with her. If it was God cockblocking a gay Satan then I guess that's fine?
>I equated them was it seemed most people in this thread donโt make a distinctionOne random asked a question if Ishtar is Lilith and it was immediately corrected.
>>40418794>I'm a Christmaxxingcome home misguided Dammuzi follower
>>40454766>Goddess>Providing unwanted advancesare you 100% SURE you're dealing with a Goddess?
>>40455371Me? I had no such advances from Ishtar. But you or the anon who claims Ishtar is pestering him is. The most direct way to solve the issue is to make an offering to Ishtar, but that doesn't strike me as a solution for a person spurning her. But seriously, male god, I said Mars because he keeps Venus in check. Or to translate into more psychological terms, you are keeping your unbound passion in check with martial discipline. Are you really going to let your feminine side bully you?
>>40418794she is the ultimate force on earth
coomer depictions for amateurs
>>40455941I'd love it if you'd post some historical depictions, but we don't really have any that I'm aware of. That is, if we consider the Burney Relief to be Ereshkigal
>>40418527 (OP)Lilith wants you in hell
>>40456847/succgen/ is that way
>>40448851 buddy.
Ishtar's schtick is pestering people who are overly normative, stiff, and unchanging. If Ishtar's pestering you, try not being stagnant. Re-perspectivize divine femininity, masculinity, and androgyny.
War and fertility are both about change.
>>40457087she is evil and can destroy the soul of those who have never done anything. this demon is a horrible thing.
>>40459613>destroy the soulDoesn't happen in Sumerian Myths, Gilgamesh is clearly alive after royally pissing off Inanna. Destruction of the soul happens in Egyptian mythology, and it is safe to say that Inanna isn't associated with crocodiles, or jackals for that matter. Also, she doesn't even have purview over the dead soul, that rests solely with her sister Ereshkigal, and she made that very clear.
>>40459686don't be a nerd, ishtar will ruin your life, she is in close collaboration with all the demons to ruin you, if she doesn't receive her soul it doesn't matter she will always destroy you
>>40459872>ishtar will ruin your lifeI mean if you ever had bust a nut and it felt really good, that's her. Don't think she's going to drag you down to Hell for a biological process mate. Though she does prefer carnal relations if you can muster the courage.
>she is in close collaboration with all the demons to ruin youAh yes nebulous 'demons' or perhaps daimones? You do know it just means 'spirit' not a fallen angel?
>if she doesn't receive her soul it doesn't matter Wow, so demon women don't get paid their fair share?! Get with the times man, equal pay for equal work.
>she will always destroy youIf Ishtar destroys me I'd consider that a point of pride, most people get ruined by far less. But I doubt she's going to be interested.
>>40460274You know, I haven't actually ever had an orgasm that felt good.
How do I offer my body to Ishtar and let her whip me to her heart's content
>>40456847Lillie, Adam's 1st wife, fucked ever demon she could find and spawned a demon horde. Why should I give a goddamn unholy fuck about what she wants?

>>40460274>Though she does prefer carnal relations if you can muster the courageIf she gets me a girl, she can have all the sex she wants in offering
>>40420451You dont need her to restore your foreskin mate.
look up "foreskin restoration methods".
>>40467207Those methods take years of daily practice to stretch skin in order to mimic what was lost. It's still lacking the rigid band and frenulum from the initial circumcision. Not to mention the nerves and veins that are lost. A miracle would be the only way to fully bring back their foreskin
She's literally a low-level whore for Upper Divine Beings that treat her like dirt and laugh at her because she's a desperate hooker looking to suck her way up a ladder. You are the cosmic equivalent of VTuber simps. She's not going to have sex with you greasy neckbeards even if you spread her word faithfully to your last dying breath. She couldn't even if she somehow decided to throw away her last shred of Divine dignity because she doesn't have the same type of body as you. You're retarded.
>>40464397They know what's up, nothing fixable. I feel like a eunuch at times, unable to feel the same sexuality as most men. I have my sex drive, but I can't express it like that.
>>40467292Oh no, you're referencing the Book of Enoch where Samyaza takes a lover named Istahar? Newsflash, if a Mexican is called Jesus, does it mean he's the real Jesus? If someone is called Venus are they the actual goddess Venus? This is even worse than the Semiramis and Nimrod story because it completely ruins God's image. You're telling me an angel who has no free will just straight up gave God's true name because she was pretty. It's even worse when you think about it because it means God literally just says "Alright, you're such a fine woman, here are the keys to godhood, just between us, right?"
And if you try to connect to the Whore of Babylon, which you are obviously trying to do. She isn't, that is Mahalat.
>>40467587Sounds like you need a different kind of love, anon, beyond carnality. Good fortune on your quest.

>The Exaltation of Inanna
โO precious, precious Queen, beloved of heaven,
Your sublime will prevails, let it be for my restoration!
[ . . . ]
Show that you stand high as heaven
Show that you reach wide as the world
Show that you destroy all unruly lands
Show that you raise your voice to foreign countries
Show that you smash head after head,
Show that you feed on kill, like a lion,
Show that your eyes are furious,
Show that your stare is full of rage,
Show that your eyes gleam and glitter
Show that you are unyielding, that you persevere,
Show that you stand paramount,
For if Nanna said nothing, he meant, โDo as you will.โโ
โThe almighty queen, who presides over the priestly congregation,
She accepted her prayer.
Inannaโs sublime will was for her restoration.
It was a sweet moment for her [Inanna], she was arrayed in her finest, she was beautiful beyond compare,
She was lovely as a moonbeam streaming down.
Nanna stepped forward to admire her.
Her divine mother, Ningal, joined him with her blessing,
The very doorway gave its greeting too.
What she commanded for her consecrated woman prevailed.
To you, who can destroy countries, whose cosmic powers are bestowed by Heaven.
To my queen arrayed in beauty, to Inanna be praise!โ

>>40480209Had a chuckle at this one. But it does explain why Inanna can hold much more enthusiasm than the other Anunnaki if they are just letting Inanna become the arbiter of the gods, and consequently immortalize Enheduanna's name, who wasn't even her priestess.
>>40418794You don't need to do anything necessarily. Ishtar is a part of the Blessed Mother. You could venerate her without having to change much of what you're doing already
Lioness: The Song of Inanna
by Samuel David
The first traditional hymn to Inanna published in 3500 years.
Chapter 1: Lioness
Supplicant: O great and princely Inanna,
Your supplicant draws near
And stands before you as mighty Sargon;
รra, Inanna-nun!
O Star of Lamentation,
Your supplicant draws near
And stands before you as righteous Sargon;
รra, Mul-isiลก!
O Lady of Battle,
Your supplicant draws near
And stands before you as noble Sargon;
รra, Dam Erim-huลก!
Speak, O fearsome one, that I may know of your power!
The Goddess: I dress for action, like a man;
My breasts and my hips are clad in the armor of men's might.
I dress for battle, like a prince;
My hands and my feet are carnelian and the scent of iron fills my nostrils.
I dress for war, like a king;
My lips are as crimson and within my mouth is the roar of Heaven.
Supplicant: Speak, O fearsome one, that I may know of your power!
The Goddess: Rising up as the Dragon of the East,
I take that which is denied to me;
Enki concedes and relinquishes the Mes into my hands;
I create that which cannot be made
And destroy that which cannot be broken.
Rising up as the Falcon of the South,
I lay hold to that which is due to me;
Anu concedes and relinquishes the keys to the E-anna into my hands;
I command the ordinances of Heaven.
Rising up as the Lion of the West,
I seize that which would be given to another;
Enlil concedes and relinquishes the power to ordain kings into my hands;
I establish their rule on the earth.
Supplicant: Speak, O fearsome one, that I may know of your power!
The Goddess: I am the warrior you fear;
I am the drum of battle and the army which marches against gods and kings;
I am the lion whose roar causes Heaven to tremble;
I am the bull whose bellow shakes the Underworld;
I am the turning tide and my proud waves shall never be stayed;
I am the storm and the tempest which sunder the earth;
I am the great mountain whose summit is beyond reach.
>>40490976Supplicant: Speak, O fearsome one, that I may know of your power!
The Goddess: The evil-doer cannot escape my sight;
My eyes pierce darkness.
The evil-doer cannot take shelter from my rage;
My feet take me where he wishes to hide.
The evil-doers cannot defend themselves against my might;
My hands lay waste to their lives
And those who come to their aid are cast aside as rubble.
Supplicant: O Lioness! O Dragon! O Holy Terror!
Inanna, you are worthy to be praised;
Great is your name in Heaven, Earth, and the Underworld!
Chapter 2: Lover
Supplicant: O Inanna of the Tavern,
Your supplicant draws near
And stands before you as Dumuzid, whom you desire;
รra, Inanna-eลก-dam!
O Inanna of the Holy Vulva,
Your supplicant draws near
And stands before you as Dumuzid, whom you love;
รra, Inanna-ku-gal-la!
O Inanna of the Dusk,
Your supplicant draws near
And stands before you as Dumuzid, whom you hold dear;
รra, Inanna-sig!
Speak, O passionate one, that I may know your caress!
The Goddess: I dress in linen, like a woman with no need of a man's approval;
My breasts are draped in precious gems.
I dress for the inner chamber, like a bride;
My hands and feet are decorated with henna
And the taste of honey is upon my tongue.
I dress for the art of love-making, passion,
The kissing of the phallus, and the caress of the vulva;
My hips are clad in silver and gold
And all who gaze upon me are spellbound by my dance.
Supplicant: Speak, O passionate one, that I may know your caress!
The Goddess: Rising up as the new bride,
I take that which is promised to me in the cool hours of dawn;
My lover concedes and delivers his body into my hands;
I draw out that which brings me pleasure and leave him longing for more.
Rising up as the harlot in the city gates,
I lay hold of that which is due to me in the heat of midday;
The men of the city concede and one by one
I take them in turn and bind them into servitude.
I command the plowing of the field,
And the bounty of the earth is poured out into my lap.
Rising up as the evening star,
I seize that which would be given to another.
Dumuzid concedes and brings pleasure to my body;
I give him the names desired by kings and set him upon a throne.
Supplicant: Speak, O passionate one, that I may know your caress!
>>40489579The rare non Ishtar-Rin image, truly blessed.
>>40492915The Goddess: The chaste maiden and youth cannot escape my sight;
My eyes unlatch locked doors.
The chaste maiden and youth cannot cloister themselves in the holy chamber;
My feet lead me to them and I draw them out with my dance.
The chaste maiden and youth cannot seal themselves away in a bower;
My hands caress them and stir their longing for one another
And bring them close so that they may consummate their love.
Supplicant: O holy whore of Babylon,
O liberated one,
O passionate lover without rival!
Inanna, you are worthy to be praised;
Great is your name in Heaven, Earth, and the Underworld!
Chapter 3: Lady
Supplicant: O Lady of Myriad Offices,
Your supplicant draws near
And stands before you as Enแธซeduanna, whose heart longs after you;
รra, Nin-me-ลกara!
O Holy Torch Who Fills the Heavens,
Your supplicant draws near
And stands before you as Enแธซeduanna, whose hands are raised in supplication;
รra, Nin-diฤir-si-an-na!
O Queen of Heaven and Earth,
Your supplicant draws near
And stands before you as Enแธซeduanna, whose tears are as prayers;
รra, Nin-ฤeลก-แธซur-an-na!
Speak, O holy one, that I may know your majesty!
The Goddess: I dress in power and majesty,
Like the sun and moon, each in their turn;
My head is crowned with the light of salvation.
I dress in virtue and splendor like a holy priestess;
My hands and feet are jeweled with mercy, grace, favor, and peace
And the radiance of my heart is without limitation.
I dress in gold, and carnelian, and the lapis garments of a queen;
My shadow is a rainbow stretching forth over the face of the earth.
Supplicant: Speak, O holy one, that I may know your majesty!
The Goddess: Rising up as the radiant star of the East
I take that which is mine to drive out of my most holy place.
The people concede and relinquish their despair into my hands;
I lift up that which has been cast down, and restore the broken.
Rising up as the eternal star of Heaven
I lay hold of that which is due to me.
The people offer up their holy sacrifices;
I am moved by their devotion and draw them to my side.
Rising up as the shining star of the West
I seize that which would be given to another.
The kings of the earth concede and lead their subjects to my holy temple;
There I make them my priests and priestesses, my reed-men and reed-women,
My lamentation singers and sword-wielding dancers.
Supplicant: Speak, O holy one, that I may know your majesty!
>>40418794Fairly certain that Ishtar was recycled by the Egyptians and the Heebs and became Isis and Sara. There is also a theory in circles like the Esoterica YouTube channel that the Old Testament God (or at least one of them) was married to Ishtar.
>>40433642Liliths OC is that she isn't even a singular entity and rather an entire class of demons. By the time the Jews heard of Lilith the folklore had already turned her into a singular entity and the stories were copied over and turned into fan fic for Adam and Solomon.
>>40467292My succubus ghost wife can touch me. She says it's more of an air pressure trick since, as you said, it's not like her energy reacts like a body. She can also influence my nerves to send messages to the brain saying "my mommys touching me on my pp again"
>>40497445The Goddess: I am the axis and the crux upon which the world turns;
I am the princely one who ordains destinies and decrees Fate, for my voice is the command of Anu, Enki, and Enlil.
I am the falcon among sparrows;
The gods flee before me as I rise up from my throne.
I am she who has dared to descend and break the gates of the Underworld;
I am the width and breadth of the sea;
I am the rainbow over the land
Which soothes the hearts of those who have been afflicted by my rage;
I am the light of the stars whose radiance is seen by all upon the earth
Supplicant: Speak, O holy one, that I may know your majesty!
The Goddess: The downtrodden cannot escape my sight;
My eyes search for them to and fro upon the earth.
The downtrodden cannot rest in ruined places;
My feet lead me to their forgotten place
And I draw them out as a shepherd with his flock.
The downtrodden cannot falter in my presence;
My hands reach for them
And I gather them to my breast as precious lapis and carnelian.
Supplicant: O Queen, O Priestess, O Lady of the Largest Heart;
Inanna, you are worthy to be praised!
Great is your name in Heaven, Earth, and the Underworld!
So ends Lioness: The Song of Inanna
>>40497626Isis is her own person. There's not enough intersection to call them the same person.
>Old Testament God (or at least one of them) was married to Ishtar.YWHW could've been married to Asherah. Astarte-Ishtar was married to YWHW's rival god Baal. Baal was demonized by Christians into Baalzebub or Beelzebub today.
Who else is preparing something for the New Moon? It's when Our Lady holds court and takes requests for help

>>40504081Funny you posted a picture of Marika, considering she basically is Ishtar from a fictional universe

>>40508599the "Ishtargate" sounds like a mix between StarGate and a scandal involving ritualistic sex meant to invoke a forgotten fertility goddess
It's kinda endearing seeing people post old cosplay pics I posted in those old threads. On a serious note though, those old threads got me actually interested in exploring my spirituality and reaching out to Ishtar and begin building my own faith with her and other deities I vibed with, and it helped me start discovering myself. She was always there, always waiting for me to see the path and start my journey. I love her, and it's refreshing to see others interested, but Imma just say to seek her herself out, don't just force some Ishtarin eregore worship because you're horny. Ishtarin is a beautiful interpretation of her though, don't get me wrong, but speak to the goddess herself, reach out and see if there's a connection, and even if she declines, she's very much worthy and deserving of worship and praise
>>40508599Huuuuuuu, this, specific image, feels like something.
>>40510046It's because it's named after the Ishtar Gate that is located in Germany. If you're in Berlin, take a stop by Pergamon Museum. It was part of seven gates into the city, the Ishtar Gate was main entrance.
>>40510332I do believe the Ishtar-Rin does serve 'a' purpose for a modern connection. Even if it's not veneration.
"Let us explore the following analogy: both the god-chosen Assyrian king and the devotee of Ishtar play the role of Ashur's son or of Mullissu's son. Likewise, the Neoplatonic mystic may seek to be integrated into the universal hypostasis of Hekate Soteira or Athena Soteira. Ishtar as a 'virgin of light' marks the presence of God (Ashur, the only, the universal God, viewed as 'the totality of gods', gabbu ilani Ashur). At the same time, Ishtar is the word of God and the way of salvation. As a rule, the Assyrian prophets belong to the cultic community of Ishtar's devotees (assinnu, nash pilaqqi) and share their esoteric mystical lore concerning the agent and salvation of the soul"
Orpheus and the Roots of Platonism, pg. 24.
>>40513053Oh yeah, without a doubt Ishtarin is an amazing modern interpretation, and I'm happy she draws people to Ishtar herself like me, just I wanted to say come to her for Her, not just to cum to a really sexy anime girl and not give the Goddess Her due, you know?
>>40513569Cum... isn't a great offering honestly. The ancient Mesopotamians certainly didn't use it as one. It's also something that your body constantly replenishes, so it's not really any kind of sacrifice either
>>40513621I didn't say cum to her, I said come
Maybe it was already discussed here but what's the relation beetwen Ishtar/ Innana etc. and the Virgin Mary in christianity?
She (Ishtar/Astarte) is mentioned as the "queen of heaven" in the Old testament (Jeremiah 44:16-17 and another verse).
I've found the depictions of crowned Mary quite intriguing as she never held a position of power in the biblical story, just Jesus' mom. Is it just some purely christian symbolism or some ancient idol rebranded under christianity?
>>40513878forgot to add picrel to illustrate but here you go
>>40513676Kek you got me
>>40513878It's worth reading the True Grimoire by JSK for this discussion. Look for the chapter on Astaroth. I'll try to post the relevant excerpt later when I have more time
>>40513878I'm not as well read in it as some, but there are some parallels drawn between the two, and the whole vibe of that protective feminine figure trying to see humanity into another day. I'm not Christian, but I venerate Mother Mary from time to time in my own practices for what she represents, and a few areas kinda resonate together with Ishtar
>>40513878I would identify Ishtar not as Mary, but Mary Magdalene in Church traditions. I find Mary to be a continuation of Hera-Juno as she is, ironically, the ideal goddess for Christianity, a mother goddess, eternally loyal to her husband, who is Queen of the Gods, second only to Zeus-Iupiter. Of course, you can't have multiple gods in a monotheistic system, so hyperdulia is given to Mary. Which is totally not 'worship', just putting her as the holiest creation, Queen of Heaven and Earth. So, while yes, there is a shared title, Mary fits the role of Queen of the Gods rather than Ishtar's Queen of Heaven, which were two separate positions in Mesopotamian religion. It's confusing, but Christianity is honestly the wackiest of the bunch.
>>40513413There are many parallels between Ishtar and Hekate. It's very interesting. Both are lunar, both trod the underworld, both can be the highest deities in their pantheons, both care about the downtrodden.
I hope the new moon has been treating everyone well, and I hope your prayers are carried swiftly to our Lady
Happy Friday the 13th to my fellow Goddess appreciators.

In what ways have you served Our Lady recently? Alternatively, what blessings has she given you?
>>40522604Life's been super hectic and stressful lately, so I've just asked her for a little peace of mind, to help ease some stress from my mind, and she's been helping carry me through mentally. Why did you steal the magic, Ishart?
>>40529410If you are referring to Inanna and Enki, that is basically telling us to treat guests with hospitality. The 'theft' of the 'me' is basically denoting the political shift from Eridu(Enki's city) to Uruk (Inanna's city). Like a old father passing his throne to his heir. As always don't read myths 'too' literally, thought Enki does go 'ehhh, we're still friends and family, so keep them.'

>>40533060Ah yes Jack Parsons and the classic case of what I personally call 'Red Fever' a self-destructive obsession with her, not to help he was a chemist. Avoiding summodeism with her and keeping Ishtar separate, Isis for the matter as well, from that entity in turns of study prevents this, but Crowley's influence runs deep. I'll give them this, it's potent idea that can trap someone in a spiral.
>>40527613Well, it looks like it paid off. Though this is a very simplified result that just goes to show how rare this alignment is:
First I set the origin date of today, then assumed perfect orbits with zero eccentricity. This hearkens back to the old celestial sphere worldview of the solar system, so this would be an ideal solar system free from chaos. Second, this was a search period over a period of 2 million years in the future and past. The best fit in the future ends with a date of 343,803 AD. Third, is picrel this is actually a more perfect star that's less than 1 degree of deviation, but again nearly half a million years ago. Though I was expecting a Faery Star from the program, not Babalon's star. However, there was a pretty 'good' fit of about 1.74 average deviation around 5,600 BCE, which is around Uruk was starting to become a city or at least a proto-city, so that's pretty neat.
Mercury is removed because, like always, it is a trickster that screws everything up, plus Sun to Venus seems powerful figuratively. Ultimately a pretty fun exercise.
I know what this nasty hoe hides
I hope our Lady is with you this day, anons. Don't forget to stop and say a little something, just a quick moment between you and Ishtar. A prayer, a wish, or just to let her know you're okay and thinking about her
>>40520904Didnโt the ancient Greeks equate Hecate with Ereshkigal, not Ishtar?
>>40538011I believe there was connection in the Greek Magical Papyri for the two. But the two are pretty separate in public worship, namely that Ereshkigal would be treated similar to Hades, respected but rarely spoken of.
>>40418794god is a prison guard in your head making sure you do your priests bidding. Inanna is liberty. fix yourself to please her and walk upright because no woman wants a loser as lover.
>>40537430Delving into alchemical concepts now. The Inanna and Enki myth has got me thinking what is Ishtar's Shadow? I'd have hunch it's that eponymous scarlet lady, that she is the Nigredo of Ishtar.
Will be a fun exercise to see what I can come up with.
>>40418527 (OP)โThus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, saying; Ye and your wives have both spoken with your mouths, and fulfilled with your hand, saying, We will surely perform our vows that we have vowed, to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her: ye will surely accomplish your vows, and surely perform your vows. Therefore hear ye the word of the Lord, all Judah that dwell in the land of Egypt; Behold, I have sworn by my great name, saith the Lord, that my name shall no more be named in the mouth of any man of Judah in all the land of Egypt, saying, The Lord God liveth. Behold, I will watch over them for evil, and not for good: and all the men of Judah that are in the land of Egypt shall be consumed by the sword and by the famine, until there be an end of them.โ (Jeremiah 44:25-27)
>>40544003That was because they betrayed their covenant with YHVH. Good thing none of us in this thread have pacts with the most jealous and small-minded god that exists, so it does not apply to us. Not that it would matter either way though; the Queen of Heaven is more than enough to protect us from your grifter deity who pretends he's the only god in blasphemous disrespect to his old pantheon
>>40544559Your affiliation doesn't matter. You worship devils, you get on the wrong side of the God of everything that exists, the Lord Jesus Christ.
>>40544597Why do you think a Jewish tribal deity is the universal god? You know he's just a merger of YHWH and El right? Or do you not know the history of your own religion?

The lazy, indolent, asleep Right Christcuck ignoramus choosing the easy low-hanging fruit ~ what the Emperors, the royalty, the Rich, and the Christain Clerical leeches told you to worship, without question, since 380 CE! It was for their benefit, not yours. You believe a Pack of Lies because that's the only thing you know about Religion. "We are absolutely Certain that we are absolutely Right and you're NOT!" You misunderstand who Jesus' "Father" is. He is not YHWH, although you read the OT like he was, and then misapply those prophecies to your mortal God, fruitlessly try to reconcile it with the NT said he was! YHWH is not Jesus' "Father"! His conception of the Jewish religion contradicts all that the OT said about who YHWH was and the things that He did. Jesus' Gospel contradicts it.
The OT lays out what their salvation plan for the tribes was ~ Temple worship. Jesus contradicts it, St. Paul contradicts that, and all the first generation of Jewish Believers contradicts it. YHWH's One Temple was for the Whole Community! Christianity OTOH, is all about and for the Individual! What's NEW in the NT is its repudiation of YHWH, His Cult (not what you think it means!), and His Law, creating a *New Thing*, while preaching that the OT prophesies it all. Christianity is deceptive, and dare I say it ~ they're 'Lying Liars who Lie!"! I'm not Jewish, nor a Jew, but I refuse to worship your Schizophrenic God who only favors the Rich and Powerful while saying they're all for the Poor while persecuting and suppressing them! Watch what the Righter than Right MAGA (Making America Greedy Again!) Republican Christain Nationalist ignoramuses say about the Poor! See how they treat the Stranger and the Homeless; See how they treat races that aren't "White" enough! And see how they threaten people who disagree with them!
>>40545140Did I just kill another Thread?...
>>40546080No, we're pretty chill around here. Proselytization isn't the goal of the thread, if people need to approach Ishtar in this thread then we're happy to help. How these things worked back when there temples to the Gods was mostly advisory on what to do appease the Gods, oversee the great rituals, perform priestly duties of maintaining the temple, and some charity work as well. Everyone has a different pathway to spirituality. The Christian spam is annoying, yes, but it's /x/, not Ishtar's temple in Uruk.
>>40545140Nevermind the indescriminate political, historical and doctrinal slander, every evil thing that you mention (without exception) stands against the will of God as laid out in the bible.
Judge God by his own word and deeds, not by anynybody else's, and vice versa.
>>40546206Let's ignore everything the Bible says about slavery etc. and pretend this is true for a moment. So why is it that every immoral piece of shit follows your religion? If your god is so great, why doesn't he smite the people who sin while teaching in his name? While we're at it, how do you account for the problem of evil in general?
>>40546410You may call yourself what you will, "christian", "follower or Jesus" or what have you, but If you are doing evil, then you are not obeying what God commands in the bible, so that's on you.
โWherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:โ (Romans 5:12)
That's Adam, after Lucifer set the snare.
>>40546444That answered exactly none of my questions

โยถ Then said the prophet Jeremiah unto Hananiah the prophet, Hear now, Hananiah; The Lord hath not sent thee; but thou makest this people to trust in a lie. Therefore thus saith the Lord; Behold, I will cast thee from off the face of the earth: this year thou shalt die, because thou hast taught rebellion against the Lord. So Hananiah the prophet died the same year in the seventh month.โ (Jeremiah 28:15-17)
>>40546509Yeah, the Bible says a lot of strange things. Except, you'd think if this was true they wouldn't be the main faction of Christians in the world today
>>40546538โThe Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.โ (2 Peter 3:9)
>>40546570Now you're just being retarded and contradicting yourself
>>40546509Foretelling the end of a city is hardly something can be considered uniquely divine. In fact the Greeks told this same story with Cassandra and Troy over 300 years before Judah fell.
>God empowers demons, false prophets, whatever-Sure thing mate, and Jeremiah was warned by Apollo about the destruction of the Temple because it was great work of art.
Oh my God, you Fatefaggots absolutely have to STOP. My wifeโs name is not ISHTAR. Moreover, she will not sleep with you, nor shall she appear before you, nor shall she grant you any joy in your lives. You mortals cannot possibly comprehend her terror.

>>40546170I'm not proselytizing, and I already belong to a church that doesn't proselytize! I'm not trying to recreate Ishtar's Temple or the overall Mesopotamian religion here or anywhere else. But, (possibly negating what I just wrote), I am concerned about Christcuck Arrogance and Certainty over everything. I mentioned MAGA, hopefully in a bad light, but that doesn't mean I endorse the damned Democrats either. There is One political party in this country (the US), and it has two heads. They agree on about 95% of the important political issues, and sometimes switch places. I'm not going (there!) in that direction either! If I want to bit.. complain about politics, I'll put it on /pol/. BB & NT! (A little obfuscation is a good thing)
>>40549893Yep, going to take some rose petals offer them up to a ritual fire. The stems will be saved to be buried on the Equinox to symbolize the separation of Ishtar and Tammuz. The rose ashes will be mixed with fresh water and then poured into the backyard to given to Enki. The fresh water mixing with the earth is, of course, the recreation of the interplay of Abzu and Tiamat. It will then finally be buried under rocks to symbolize Ninhursag, the Mountain Goddess.
Little ritual I devised in the weeks leading up to this. Will take place at noon at the Sun's highest ascent.
>>40544559>he says while posting an image of the most insane and jealous bitch who throws a hissy fit against mortals for the pettiest of things like any mortal woman getting called beautiful, or a man wanting to remain chaste
>>40545140The parasite is literally Ishtar, who takes everyone's things.
>>40554129>>40554133My brother in Inanna, have you heard of Lectio Divina?
>>40554129Most of the myths involving Aphrodite are very clear. Love is not a washed-down commercialized package to sell. The saying 'Love conquers All' is pretty literal in these poems. The Ancient Greeks pretty much understood that love can be an extremely messy affair rife with danger. Most of the time, she's 'punishing' (read: the poet has some chip on his shoulder against someone) and is used to explaining concepts in the real world. The Eos story tells why dawns are short. We all know about Narcissus. Glaukos is morbidly funny and justified (just let the damn horses breed man) and tells why mares act so crazy during estrus. Psyche is pretty much the Mangum opus of the Aphrodite cycle.
>hissy fit against mortals for the pettiest of things like any mortal woman getting called beautifulCorrection: Anything calling themselves more beautiful than her. Again, the Greeks viewed hubris as the ultimate danger. Calling yourself more beautiful than literal beauty itself is telling the reader "Okay, some bad shit is about to go down". The myth you are referring to, Myrrha, is about the perfume Myrrh and how it leads to beautiful men and women through its application, and hubris on the mother's part.
>or a man wanting to remain chaste99% are certain this is usually a prince not wanting to uphold his family's honor by continuing the bloodline and his sexual urges overtake him. That was just a fact of life then. Men were expected to take wives and build a family, then succeed their father as patriarch of the family.
However mythology is separate from worship, consider the myths semi-legend semi-blockbuster productions in their time.
>>40554133>Ishtar is conniving mastermind and a powerful manipulator that steals from people.>Is probably referring to OnlyFans or whatever.Well no, it's not shelling out thousands of dollars to a women. She would appreciate an offering that was made with your love, no matter how humble, because every has some beauty with them.
One of my cotemplations: The separation of Lust from Love in Ishtar's presence. The Lust is the Caput mortuum, the Dead Hand, perhaps the lowest form and most base form of the Queen of Heaven's grace, yet we seem to be rather stuck on this stage. But perhaps not? Perhaps it's not even Lust, but simply Desire?
Something to ponder over for myself.
Stop stealing the magic, Ishart
>>40558369Nope, the Caput mortuum is definitely Hatred, whew. Completely useless, while Desire is of some use if tempered. Though I suppose that might be used in the Nigredo of the war aspect? Likely if we are talking about Ares as a base, not so much with Mars.
>>40559389Are you okay man?
Can she help me have lesbian sex
>>40565539There's no defined sexuality when it comes to Ishtar, so if the goal is lesbian sex, that is her under purview, even if it's on material on it is on the wayside compared to male homosexuality. What do you think is preventing you from obtaining your goal?
>>40565589Fear of hurting people emotionally and of being hurt
>>40565605The fear of hurting people is empathetic and understandable given the tight-knit nature of the scene. Fear of rejection is like the fear of death, for what is there to live for if there's nobody to love? You don't have to particularly give incense or offer a litany of praise to Ishtar. She is the lion of the heart, the uncompromising passion that dominates love and war. If you have someone you feel affectionate for, then you must pass through that gate like Ishtar did in her descent. It's scary, nerve-wracking, and terrifying. You will be rejected. That is a certainty, but one must be unconquerable by fear and doubt.
That begins with yourself, looking into the mirror and deciding 'Is this the best I can be?' Is there something that you can overcome?
Don't self-sabotage yourself. However, don't simply let people roll over you. If you do achieve your goal, remember the Queen of Heaven, perhaps give her a nod of appreciation. I know words aren't a magical solution, but it is action that delivers results.
>>40565719Is this certain rejection statistical, or is it instead immediate? I'm very close to just straight up asking this girl out right now and I'd love for this to work out as she's incredibly cool
>>40565899Statistically, I was assuming you were going through the dating scene. If you have sights set on a person, ultimately only the goddess knows what her desires are. I would desire the truth no matter how painful it could be, but if she is one of your few friends, I would also take that into account. However, denying one's true feelings eats away at them. Ultimately, I place my trust with Ishtar and hope you succeed. Be strong and brave.
>>40565944Thanks anon, I'll do my best to make it real
I-S-H-A-R-T
Not even such an ancient goddess yet quite a lot of damage she causes! A thief of magic! And with her charms convinces everyone that she is the most divine - and a victim!
>>40566830I don't even get what your saying man. If you need to vent frustrations it's better to ask for help. She's not a 'victim', but her followers were victims of invading faiths, but Ishtar was never 'endangered', we are free to believe who want. She is a part of a pantheon, and she is not the most divine, that would go to Anu or Marduk depending on time frame.
>>40418527 (OP)How did Astarte and St Bartholomew faced each other?
>>40418527 (OP)>hot sexy anime picture for the first grieving mother who buried her husband and childyou guys are so fucking based i love it, heresy has never been so mainstream before
cant wait until orange man donaldo gets on the real golden throne and the sky starts bleeding doom, it's gonna be fucking hilarious
>>40568713The question is, if they ever faced off? I'll give a famous example of how 'declaring war' on the gods goes. The example is Caligula declaring war on Neptune, then having the legionaries stab the sea. The sea is still here, so I am guessing Neptune won that exchange. Likewise, refusing to conduct science isn't refusing 'temptations', it's just being ignorant. You might say that Caligula's account is exaggerated, then I must raise the question, and not these accounts from priests as well, especially when Astarte was rather detested goddess in their scripture?
>>40569653She is traditionally depicted as naked, I don't think we'd be able to post that here. I am not too familiar with the story you referencing. If I had to guess, you might be referring to Eve?
>40569653
lmao the delusion is strong with this one
>>40569734>refering to EveAh, my King! Your golden visage shines through the series of tubes, you are obviously and truly the one who is most correctest of all because the words always are the words and never the meaning! How could I forget! Please, let me cut off my toes and shove them in my nose such that I may smell your wisdom!
>>40569904Hey, listen! What if the real spork was inside you all along? Do you want some more maize paste with milk? It's good for gluing your digestive tract shut such that you cannot consume truth!
Its no surprise that Taylor Grift leans hard on her victimhood narratives, which somehow overshadow her treacherous behavior.
>>40570021>this is your brain on ishtar creativityShe really is not known for her poetic nor metaphorical prowess. Wew! Lord knows she tries....
Oh, I get it. Ishtar had to revise her story as Inanna because the original version did not garner her the sympathy and impact she was hoping for
>>40569734I guess you guys don't go on /x/ a lot outside of these threads. If the gods are ok with you or a spirit watching over 4chan finds you amusing enough they will protect nude images (topless if you're scared) if they are depictions of spirits or gods. So are ya feeling favored?
>>40570830I wouldn't take the Gods for granted like that. There are other places where one can gaze upon the nude form of Venus, perhaps a museum? Plus, this board isn't under divine rule of any particular power, otherwise we would quickly know who's in charge in here. Though, to be hypothetical, Melinoe and Dionysus are certainly contenders if you ask me.
So to answer your question, no I am not feeling 'favored' in that endeavor.
>>40570916I certainly am not. I'm saying that some of them appreciate the boldness within reason. And while no one has rule over here, influence is a different ballgame.
People have gotten away with posting Freya and Lilith.

>>40418527 (OP).....How deep into the coomer rabbit hole are you, m8? You do realize AI generated garbage isn't your "Goddess", right? is that blasphemy? Kind of like how humans trying to depict Allah in muslim belief is considered "heresy", lmao.
>>40572329It's distasteful, but I am not the OP, and the thread is approaching its bump limit anyway. Blasphemy wouldn't be something that is trivial, it's for grave offenses, murder and such, even then the worldly institutions would administer justice. We don't ask the Gods to micromanage our lives, it's up to us how to best live it. Divine punishment is for truly colossal follies that stem from privileged people, such as Gilgamesh being a demigod and being a real piece of work. But we are not in the Age of Heroes anymore. Even then, we don't have the concept of eternal punishment, the Gods just want you to live your best life. We don't have 'heresy', how polytheistic systems worked is groups would worship their local version of the deity. For example the Spartans worshiped Aphrodite Areia or Aphrodite the Warlike, while Athens worshiped Aphrodite Urania, there is also Aphrodite Pandemos which is Aphrodite of the People which the counterpart to Aphrodite Urania. It would have been perfectly normal to have all three of those aspects in different cities.
>>40570162she does! but she's what thor was for saxonian and scandinavian men, and nobody remembers how either actually works in the real world because of all those words that tell people that bodies are prisons of glass, and not factories of miracles that shake the world. but what can you do when the calluses of a carpenter got turned into magical sky daddy marks instead of a sign of engaging in manual labor?
that's a rhetorical question, you go slap a tree, obviously, it might give you wood!

>>40572635That's a lot of words, friendo.
You're bringing in Greek gods? C'mon, now. If you're gonna grift/Larp you have to have SOME sense of disbelief amongst your audience.
>>40572871Oh, if I was trying to grift, this would be an Enki thread, or you might be more familiar with Hermes. Your clever trickster gods, to put them into a neat category. If it were so, I'd be trying to sell you some elixir of immortality, from the secrets of the Emerald Tablets, only for it to be some crushed weed, mixed with honey. Though, Hermes does pop up occasionally on this board.
As for Aphrodite, why not? The two are related, especially with Aphrodite Areia, which is the closest version you will get to Ishtar in a Greek sense, at least in my view.
>>40572946Dude, I don't play WoW. Fuck off.
I understand more mythology than you just by listening to death metal from sweden. Unironically.
Btw, Zeus was a sopping wet vagina who was pussy whipped.
>>40572974Death metal isn't for me, I do understand it's a way to vent excess anger. Though, it seems to have failed you in this moment, too bad, I heard metalheads are pretty chill. Also do you expect me to get angry on behalf Zeus? As if he hasn't heard an insult or two lobbed at him. I'm sure the big man will be fine.
Do you have anything else to speak of?
>>40572998"The big man"
You don't actually worship him. Or that religon, for that matter. You're a walking meme if you do. Doesn't it get tiring?
>Dudes trsut me, I've been around death metal dudes before, they're super chill but not you >trust me bro "We" usually are. But you come across as an "acthUTALLY" type. So no.
>>40573114No, I am finding myself in Ishtar's favor. I see not an adversary, but rather an enjoyable story that is being played out. A random person who thinks themselves above the Gods, yet has no name to speak of. This random person has become rather impassioned, stirred, as if their very soul has been roused by a fire. A descent from a polite yet mocking facade into a rather vicious snake. Over what, a simple thread, my, I can't imagine some text can be that influential. One would say that Ishtar rules over all aspects of love, which includes obsession. You, my friend, seem positively thrilled. Not with me, how flattering that might be, but perhaps to compensate for something you lack. A tune that won't come out right, a band member that never shows up, or an agonizing case of sore throat. But if you are not the creative type, maybe a favorite artist that has retired, perhaps trying to find that one good single?
Personally, punching trees gives me wood. Thor is Trottel is the biggest idiot, and that's who they turned into Zeus, when all Thor really did was make firewood with his hands in European forests.
But all those hot climate "bring me nuts and milk and honey, wife" sweatlords don't know what "providing" actually means, so there we have the salad!
>>40418527 (OP)Can anyone understand this?
>>40576423Of course not, it's English talking about astrology, it's a memetic virus by talmudian design, you should know that.
Have you guys ever considered that many, MANY people don't appreciate having their lives hijacked for the benefit of a goddess that they want nothing to do with?
Let's say that Jesus is considered the Morning Star/Venus, and some of us are baptized into this religion and whatnot, so we are followers of Jesus. But what if you guys start working your magic to drag anyone you can place a hit on, and suck on their energy to benefit your goddess leaving these people to be incredibly toxic to their family members or friends and whatnot.
Do you not think that these people have very right to react negatively to your very existence and work? Because it seems that way to me. Especially when you do it hidden away in the shadows and no one gets to see or know what is going on with them. You don't respect boundaries, you jinx their daily lives for years and decades. Who knows what many things happen and who is even keeping track of these things!?
>>40577145But i evoke her in the name of Adonay, so there is no problem
If I got Ishtar daki, would she be ok with me cuddling her?
>>40577161Do you actually have a working relationship with Astaroth? How is that? Do you attempt to command her in the name of Adonay, or do you barter with her? How has that gone?
>>40577145I literally have no idea what you are talking about. Nobody is working magic on you anon, and nobody is trying to steal you from Christianity or whatever
Steals magic, makes others pay for it, and then also wants to get the glory.
Sorry, I should've said:
Gets the glory when good or convenient, but otherwise its the others getting pinned the blame if the outcome is negative.
>>40577512>>40577594Stop taking the myths so literally. The magic passing into Inanna's hands is representative of transition to agricultural civilization. Inanna was beloved as a god of the people, likewise with her Greek version Aphrodite Pandemos
>>40577360I'm preparing for that. I have done it with other goetic spirits. It takes time. And depending on the nature of the spirit. Vassago is good and kind. Raum is, shady and maybe dangerous. In the Grimoires Astaroth is depicted sometimes as a Duke and sometimes as a King, as a King it interests me more because that means she has control over other spirits.
I won't lie to you. Astarte/Astaroth is everything I would like in a goddess. Sex, war, Magick.
But my heart belongs to Jesus
>>40577646She's also a Duke/Duchess in the Verum. The Verum is highly worth looking at if you plan to work with Astaroth; a significant number of the spirits in that book are her subordinates. JSK even assigns her subordinates from the lemegeton in his Verum, including Gremory and Stolas.
Anyway, I'd be very interested to hear updates on your progress when you conjure her. As a side note, as a Christian, how do you feel about the historical relationship between Mary and Ishtar?
>>40577675No I don't think they can be equated, Because Christianity has censored Sexuality and that is an Important aspect of the Ishtar archetype. Virgin Mary would be more akin to the Isis Archetype, making more emphasis on the mother aspect.
>>40576423Where's it from? My advice would be to read more about astrology like from the /omg/ OP
