To be honest, while the timeline is off, I'm actually more reminded of something John Titor said in a forum. A person asked him if marijuana would ever be legalized, and he responded with something to the effect of "Yes, around the same time the cops stop coming when you call. We seem to be awful close to the scenario Titor mentioned. Well, I can't argue one way or the other for that. To my knowledge, Titor's mythology is distinctly US-centric. I also don't claim to be an expert on the story, either.
