>>40541539 (OP)I feel you. I needed Jesus to change my whole life around because I was not able to find strength within myself to change. .
Here is what I suggest based on what I went through:
Jesus is our only true salvation. So as step 1, ask him for help! Pray in your heart for him, be honest what you want and why you pray him (he knows already both what we want and what we need, but in building relationship with him, we need to talk to him), accept him in your life and give yourself to him. It is intense thing though it sounds easy. By asking Holy Spirit and receiving Holy Spirit, you get intense feeling of what sin is and how it is in your life. Enemy tries to attack you with thoughts like: "I am unworthy, I am unworthy of mercy, God will just plunge me into hell, that is where I belong"
Don't listen those lies, Jesus came here to save us!
Essentially, trust Jesus enough to fix and save you. I hope I had realized this myself in the beginning, it would have spared me lot of hurtful doubt.
Ask for Holy Spirit from God. Holy Spirit is aspect of God that can be asked to dwell within you, nd does the salvation work within you, making you able to sincerily love God, Jesus and other human beings; the fellow children of God.
Get a Bible and read it. It is comforting, and it is time one can spend with God, very important in beginning when one becomes christian. Also, it makes so that none can tempt or mislead you into non-biblical teachings or falsehood. Pray for discernment from Holy Spirit every time something either in Bible or what other christians say confuses you.
Find a good congregation/parish that is equipped/can support your journey as a newborn christian. You get a chance to help them and they get a chance to help you. Other christians/believers can be source of great encouragement!
Take care, child of God, Jesus already won the fight, we just need to be with him and stay with him, and we win too!
