The final knife transformation is complete. The angle guide polished off the patina so I gave it a soak in phosphoric acid gel and it matched very well, and added some nice irregular patina texture.
The dark spot on the edge is probably due to either inconsistencies in heat treatment.
The edge being thinner tends to heat up to a higher temp.
But it at least shows that despite being a $25 knife it is heat treated high carbon steel as advertised.
It's actually a quality knife, but the sheath is absolute the hottest of garbage and I will enjoy making a replacement in a few months.
In several years I will definitely get into blacksmithing and metalworking as the medium definitely speaks to me.
So does wood. And they speak together wonderfully as mediums of course.
