but they aren't. none of them are. Some feel like they might be going crazy, because they're basically being professionally gaslit by beings with an exceptional level of resources to leverage. But they get a clean bill of health, maybe a scant note about anxiety or paranoia or irrational fears of the night sky when driving alone on a long open stretch of road in the middle of nowhere, etc.
Also, a lot of alleged abductions happen when driving, and you basically can't get sleep paralysis while driving, by the time you've been asleep long enough for your body to start locking itself down for safety so you don't act out your REM, you'd have driven off the road and crashed ages ago.

Except wait, In-Vitro fertilization was still in incredibly early experimental phases unknown to the public. The first human testing was a full 12 years away. And vetrinarian who would go on to invent the electroejaculator was herself only 10 years old at the time, probably first learning where babies come from at all. Oh dear. That's troubling.
