Your body is the temple of God when you accept the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. I would say that keeping your body fit and healthy is a type of worship. If you have 2 legs that work, show gratitude and run. If you have 2 arms that work, show your gratitude and do some push-ups. God made our bodies beautiful when we choose to take care of them. It's glory to God when we care for our vessels.

Your mind and body are inseperably linked such that the health of one necessarily informs the health of the other. Eat well and work out, and you are that much closer to all positive mental improvements (even spiritual enlightenment). It also feels fantastic after an intense workout, so there's that too

Physical fitness is tied to the alchemical iron, Aries, Mars, and the fourth hermetic rationality of Continence which dispels desire (lust) and being incontinent (lacking self control). Now this is what happens when physical fitness is a part of spiritual practice, this is obviously not what happens when physical fitness is ill dignified (im lifting to get pussy, to beat people up, because im addicted to it).

Ill also add that calisthenics is the western man's version of hatha yoga as it cultivates classical virtue and fine tunes self control.

Lots of spiritual implications for it, bonus points if you can do it as a devotional act and even more points if you combine it with pranayama/breathwork.
