I don't think the soul is materially feminine but is a sort of softer essence than the physical body and is described as feminine in poetic terms. The Church being the bride of Christ for example, Christians are not literally marrying God. But we have a less active role in our relationship with him on a cosmic scale. I digress. Your soul is whatever sex you are. You can't have a female soul if you're born male and vice versa.

I believe the spiritual is feminine, and the physical is masculine. And that the counterpart to reason is not soul, but emotions, and that reason is masculine whereas emotions are feminine. Yes, the soul is spiritual. Pardon the misunderstanding, but I wasn't trying to say or imply that the soul isn't of a feminine characteristic, I just didn't want to use that word because the word spiritual is more concise and all-encompassing in contrast towards the word physical. And that you shouldn't be comparing the word "soul" with "reason" from the first place, because the more accurate comparison to reason is emotions, not soul. And that ultimately, as I stated before, we as humans need both emotions and reason to help shape our physical and spiritual world, thus concluding that the feminine and masculine is important and necessary in their coexistence with each other in order for us to flourish as humans, both spiritually and physically.

That's what I've come to believe in, anyways.

I disagree. I think that men are actually the emotional gender and feel emotions at a much deeper level than women. This is why majority of the best love songs are made by men about women, rather than the other way around. The vast majority of artists, musicians, and music producers are men. And one last thing, if I had to guess an accurate counterpart to soul, I'd say the brain fits that description perfectly. The brain is physical, the soul is spiritual.
