see that's what's so sad about this board; so many people here start properly by doubting everything, and then fall into the very trap that "doubting everything" is supposed to save you from because they don't understand what pain is actually for and what bodies mean
go punch a tree until you get wood, and I don't mean in Minecraft. That's where you find your roots, not in words written by some rich guy who wanted his family to follow his rules such that he can be lazy

try an experiment, without any rhythm games or time pieces attempt to pause for 4 and a half minutes then accurately count out 30 seconds - you wont, because even short term memory is not capable of temporal comparisons - and your argument requires one to accurately compare a day to a lifetime.
also science denying parrot, the universe is expanding, space and time are one thing, any physical acceleration has a corresponding temporal contraction that clocks tuned to the pulsars and atomic decay wont register.

I cheated and purposely went too slow so Id always pleasantly surprised at how much time had actually gone by but it didnt take too long to be pretty accurately wrong

It’s worth finding the videos.

The complete concert used to be on youtube but like the joos they are…. I think i found a way to torrent it or download it somewhere tho complete

This song and when she sings Stars by Janis Ian are my fave Also backlash blues is always fun but really the whole concert is to me a paradigm of what it means to be an artist

Think of it this way.
When you're two days old, one day is half of your entire lifetime, so it will feel long. When you're three years old, one day is approximately 0.091% of your life, or about 549 times less than a day as a two-day-old. When you're 50, a day makes up only about 0.0055% of your life, or about 9,091 times less than a day as a two-day-old.
As you age, every single day is literally smaller than previous days in your life.

It is kinda scary though. Time stops being valuable because it goes by so quickly that you can't even keep track of it. Best advice I can give is to just let yourself be bored sometimes, for an extended period of time. It won't fix the issue, but it can help you regain some perspective on time.

Nobody here is mystified by the idea of a proportion dear anon

The time acceleration is something different. Days weeks months are shorter than they used to be.

Proportion of a day to a total lifespan has zero bearing on things like counting with one one thousand or one mississippi two mississippi which dont even work anymore.

Also many of us remember how to count seconds accurately and have a sense of rhythm in our memory and in fact most of us recall how much you had to work on keeping your seconds steady and SLOW compared to your instincts.

Now a days the seconds and minutes fly by.

Being older has nothing to do with things like say… holding your breath for a minute

It used to be a moderately impressive thing to be able to hold your breath for an entire minute. Today it isnt even a struggle at all.
Most humans are not so dumb as to not understand the idea of simple proportions. When we say days are shorter it is in addition to any of those expected natural effects and points to something MORE going on because the time dilation we see is much too large to only be accounted for by simple proportions.

The proportion idea isnt even absolute or anything its not like 80 yr olds experience days being half as short as 40 yr olds clearly thats retarded.

It's kind of a bummer but the older you get the faster time moves because your metabolism slows down. and then there is the percentage thing.

days go super slow as a kid. especially in school.

Its age anon and the every day repeated routine. It starts hitting you in your early 30s. Once you experienced everything for the first time, and come to a understanding of most things, time (speeds up). Think of a man who spends his time pushing a boulder up a mountain. On his travel he sees and learns everything, takes breaks along his journey and enjoys life, but proceeds on his mission. But alas he reaches the top. Suddenly the boulder is speeding down the hill that you spent your childood and early 20s pushing up the hill. While on the travel up, you saw the view, enjoyed the breaks. Now youre at the top of the hill, and you saw it all, done it all you feel completed? No, unfulfilled. But it doesnt matter, now its the travel down to the end, and sadly it has to be. The deep sleep.

Maybe the time dilation is a symptom of our collective perception the result of a quantum jump to a new, more positive timeline?
Recently, I was away from home for 7 days. When I returned, all of my plants had grown what would typically take a month. Some birds had built a nest in one of my windows. But I was only gone for 7 days. It was as if time for Earth had gone on at a normal rate, and was much more than my own perception of 7 days. Like, new Earth was set up and waiting while were all shuttled there from old Earth.
I’m remaining positive. Maybe this is an Age of Aquarius kind of thing.
