I've shapeshifted into one a few times. It always felt extremely physical, but I did not occupy the same moment of time and space that I left. The most recent event happened while I was in bed. I watched my penis invert into my body, and then I had reptilian skin. I got up and saw two entities at the end of my bed. I managed to get up finally, and I was in the same house and place, but the time was completely different. My perception at that point switched back to human, and I walked outside into town, and it was the 1800s. I saw a beggar girl on the side of the road, I walked into a building and started singing opera.
Whenever I've been reptilian, it always felt like I was a physical entity, but it was a more powerful and psychically active form of physicality, and usually involves timetravel into the past. Reptilian consciousness feels a bit like the body has awakened from its sleep as a physical entity, and becomes an expression of the conscious life energy, and can shape itself however the life energy desires it to be.
It always feels like that is the real physical universe, and that this one is more dark and unconscious by comparison. It seems like waking up the psychic self to that extent to where the mind is fully in control of the body always expands consciousness so much that one is no longer part of the same physical reality as their human existence. I don't know if that is universal, or just the condition of planet earth. Most worlds don't have this distinction between dreaming/awake/physical/psychic existence that we do here.
I think its part of the veil of this planet. When you are capable and aware enough you can slip through the veil on a regular basis, but it remains for those who are not yet able to do so, and entities far more powerful than I are in charge of establishing and maintaining that layer of protection for humanity.
