Anons, how do you clear your minds and divert all negative thoughts / Emotional suffering from your inner self?

Right now, just being alive hurts me. It seems I only find peace in distractions because any kind of introspection, and the objective information it entails, causes me suffering. I feel this suffering is rational and deserved. What should I do?

I can't stop fantasizing about being someone else. Reincarnating as someone else. When I walk down the street and see other people, all I can imagine is how much I'd love to be those people and live a life different from my own.

Otherwise, I would like to lobotomize myself to lose the ability to feel these feelings of grief and sadness.

Only eat between 8AM-2PM every day. Try to sleep from 11PM-6AM. Adjust schedule as needed but this is optimal. Yes, this will lead to inner peace for many humans.

Oh and practice a language on Duolingo every day. If you miss days make them up later. Also try fish oil pills and other supplements but be careful of snakeoil scams. And talk to chatgpt about your thoughts.

Realizing you are currently dealing with a negative thought is the first step. Then you tell yourself "no, actually, fuck that."
Next you pick a thought you would like to entertain. Control of your train of thought. Be the conductor.
I often dive into thought experiments involving black holes and interstellar travel.

Aside from taking a break, usually involving alcohol, I don't. Stress is a response to something you have to deal with, unless your wires got crossed. Removing the stress doesn't remove the thing, so what's the point.

This is good advice. Just sitting and paying attention to and labelling your thoughts is a good way to become aware of all the subconscious negative habits of your brain. Start with 5mins then build up to 20min. Once OP gets comfortable with this then the next step is to use it all throughout the day (like noticing your thoughts when you pickup your phone or open a website) and not just formal meditation.

This is a great start then you can get into more advanced self-exploratory meditations that will inform you about the nature of negative emotions and the nature of the mind like Uijayi Pranayama and Prana Shuddi.

Getting off this website would be a start. Call me a hippie cuck or whatever but the amount of animosity and sexual lust that permeates even โ€œblue boardsโ€ has probably been feeding whatever demons have attached themselves to this website to last them 1000 years or more. And I fully admit my hypocrisy posting on here knowing what I know.

Focus on what you can change or improve and let everything fall as it will. At any given moment, it's snowing, raining, and storming somewhere on the earth and it all happens whether you happen to be in the right place to notice it or not. Enjoy the place where you're at and stop worrying about whether it's raining in the places you've never seen.

>I can't stop fantasizing
this part is bullshit
stop fucking daydreaming and live in reality
remember the drugged up kid coming from the dentist
>is this real life?
if its not, the fuck off with it!
you are you for this lifetime
you arent going to be anyone else until next lifetime
but even then, you'll still be you
so you'd best get on with it

For me what worked was:
- Fixing my hobbies/how I was spending my free time, it may be hard but working out, learning new things, training a craft etc feels very good afterwards

- Journaling my thoughts and doing introspection alone, actually facing those horrible things inside of me instead of avoiding them

Hi, OP... How's it going? As for myself, I'm doing A-ok. Well, from my personal experience, what's helped me to deal with those feelings of grief and sadness are as follows

1. Getting plenty of sunlight and vitamin D. Doing this helped to lower my sad thoughts pretty noticeably, or at the very least it helped give me energy to help manage those negative thoughts in the first place. Sunlight is definitely important for the body, mind, and soul.

2. Antidepressants. I know this is a paranormal board and medication may be frowned upon, but the fact of the matter is that it helped me improve my depression significantly when I was at my lowest point in life. I don't personally believe I will be on antidepressants forever, but it's a good thing to take to help you get back up on your feet and figure out a more long-term and permanent solution to improve and overcome your depression, so it's worth looking into and taking it for yourself for the short-to-mid term in your life's journey.

3. Try your best to not let this inner-thoughts rule over your life. Sometimes the best thing to do in situations where you feel confused and overwhelmed by your thoughts and life in general is to simply set them aside for now and instead distract yourself and focus on the little, enjoyable things in life like watching youtube videos, playing games, drinking coffee, or going for long walks outside. Anything that can help you focus on the here and the now instead of the past or the future. This has usually helped me out while I was doing the above 2 things as well.

4. Last but not least, always remember to never give up on hope and in victory no matter how difficult or pointless things may get for you. As long as you keep going and fighting for your precious life, you will overcome this difficult trial and tribulation and become a happier and stronger person for it. That is something I can promise for sure! Anyways, I wish you good luck, please take care, and godspeed OP.

Hi, anon.

The point is to remove the stress so it doesn't rule over your life. It may not immediately remove the thing itself, but that's ok. Maybe you yourself can contribute to removing the thing that gives you stress in the first place later, but first you gotta make sure you're physically and mentally well enough to take on life in general, so in other words, simply focus on yourself first and try to make the best of the situation you're in.

And when it comes down to it, you just gotta focus on the present moment, the here and the now, and enjoy the little things in life. Everything else will fall into place once you achieve that. Never give up on hope and in victory, and eventually you'll overcome your obstacle. That's a promise I can make for sure. Good luck and god speed anon, and please take care out there. Thank you

True, no point in worrying about things you can't fix right now, just focus on yourself and in the present moment and you'll make something work in the end. Good advice, anon, thanks!

There's a form of acceptance of pain that helps mitigate it, almost like a normal part of you, and you can wire your brain to consider chronic pain a normal part of you. Just start by sending the area a bit of love and acceptance, and then let it be. Distraction isn't necessary and neither is any form of dwelling on a feeling.

Be willing to let go of suffering.

You donโ€™t force it out, you *let it out*. You are deeply attached to your idea of self. You connect with your ideal of self through your introspection, and through it - your attachment to your pain.

You say you want to be someone else? Then be willing to sit with yourself alone and without judgement. To watch and witness who you are in the absence of your ego. The no-effort that comes from exhaustion and despair is one way to it.

Itโ€™s not sexy, but enlightenment is less about heightened states of awareness or transcendence, than it is about heightened states of perspective.

Yes but I meant to say 8AM-4PM. You can shift the 8 hour time blocks around to fit your schedule but these times are currently thought to be optimal.

All this is too aspecific to really give useful pointers. If you are not in therapy currently, then that is a step. Identifying what change is required is another step. Some forms of mental anguish and suffering are systemic and some generic advice wont help. It's also impossible to aid if people just have a surface level description and understand not the nature of the suffering or your mental processes.

You can always take a deep breathe and think to yourself "This is my time." for a couple seconds anytime. Whether you made a big mistake, are getting reprimanded by your boss, are stuck making a tough decision or are overwhelmed in any other way you can always just take a deep breath and be safe and have no worries for a couple seconds. Just remember that nothing will happen for those seconds and try to gradually extend it and realize you'll be okay for the next few minutes, the next few hours, days, months etc. and take solace in your own mind and put a little anxiety out of it.

every though you think is the confusion that exists between discovering something and being aware of sum of said thing. if your constantly thinking it means your constantly confused about the things you have discovered but are not wholly aware of. experience more of those things to glean awareness. and if you truly desire stillness stop discovering new things.
