You're just reacting to discomfort. The reality of suffering is a double edged sword when it comes to arguing God's existence. On one hand it can be hard to figure out why a good God would allow these things to happen. on the other hand, this suffering can only have true meaning and purpose if a good God exists. Getting rid of God doesn't get rid of the suffering.

The issue with this interpretation is we have evidence even here on earth that eternal suffering is likely.

Right here in our own prisons. Some people who go to jail, get out, do crime, and go back. We have evidence right here on earth that rehabilitation doesn't work in all cases. Hey OP, I'm gonna be honest, I don't have all the answers. I'm going through a crisis of faith myself actually. I'm no bible scholar or saint, sometimes I doubt if there even is a real God, but here is one thing I know for sure:

Faith in Jesus is what allowed many people to continue fighting. I was converted to Christianity not by the Bible, or by unfunny Tradcath or /pol memes, but by an ex drug addict in a wheelchair. She had been through so much pain - she suffered miscarriages, rapes, beatings, drug addictions, and in the end, she died from cancer. Yet, she still believed in God, even until the end.. That is what moved me to believe in Jesus. She endured so much, and still believed.

Whether there is or is not a god is irrelevant. I like to believe there is one, I think he has answered my prayers, but regardless, Christ existed and the fact that you are disgusted by these vile actions shows that the things He fought for - decency, kindness, compassion - are still alive.

I used to suffer this stuff so that i was "informed about how the world is". But after some thinking, I think not focusing on the horrors of this world is best. For the 30 seconds a zebra gets killed by the lion, it led years of life just grazing and chilling. If all we focus on is the death, we are skipping the life. These videos show some horrific ends, for sure. But I would like to think that everything will balance in the positive. And that everyone's ledger is at least positive on average.

Focusing on these videos is like focusing on one brown note of an otherwise glorious symphony. Why ruin it? Am I "informing myself" on a 40 minute long symphony experience by focusing on one bad oboe note? I would think no way.

I no longer watch these videos. They break my heart. And there's no reason to. I'm not "informing myself" of anything i can take action on. The animal can't be brought back by me suffering empathy for it. I can't go kill the guy before he does it, or even kill him before he does the next one, for I've not the resources or knowledge to get to him. All I'm doing is making myself feel bad.
