Nowadays it's pretty unheard of and if you talk about it people look weird at you. Some old folk might remember but most are dead by now. It's still fucking wild to me how matter of fact and common place was for people and villagers to talk about giants in the woods and how careful everyone was about it, and now it's like it's been memoryholed entirely and younger people just taking fancy hikes around like it's nobody's business.

Believe me if you want but as I child I often saw vivid apparitions during the night. It wasn't sleep paralysis and I was fully awake, could move around and observe them for minutes before they vanished. This gradually occured less and less as I grew older until I stopped seeing them entirely.
