Was anyone else here in the GATE/Gifted program in Elementary School?
I was in it and I have a lot of weird memories about it. I can't find any information on who runs the program, or if it is even a single program. Was it a federal government thing?
My whole memory of it is very hazy for some reason despite going there twice a week for 5 years.
Almost all of what we learned about pertained to geopolitics. The windows were covered in brown paper in all of the classrooms we used. They made us listen to audio recordings of static or nature sounds out of a tape recorder with headphones. They would also randomly take individual students and make them listen to the recordings alone or make them build legos or something.
I don't remember doing very much actual work besides a yearly project. What little work we had to do was not graded.

i tested in but they told me to switch to a gifted elementary school instead. we learned musical instruments (multiple) and a foreign language from 1st grade up
funny thing is they had me test for gate at the new school and i got in there too but they said i shouldn't join because it would be boring and require more homework
I thought they were saying that to be in GATE i would have to switch classes for good, and i remember it being that way for a kid in my class. Others describe it as only once in a while class. Were there 2 kinds GATE classes? or did they just abduct the lil genius blonde girl from my class?

I was in it. We were read cards that presented as riddles, but they involved ways to murder a man and get away with it. One of the solutions I remember being praised for was figuring out that the poison was in ice cubes and melted into a drink. Freaky shit. We did one card each day and nearly all of them were murder related.

My memories are fuzzy I only remember being called a couple more times to take a hearing test than anyone else. I could hear all the beeps. Idk what significance that is but whatevs.

I also would get pulled from class in fifth grade and me and this lady would go in a fun looking room and we would play Chinese checkers.

That’s it…maybe something else will come up the longer I reminisce but..all I can say at this point is life is stranger than fiction.

I was born in 1989 and was in GATE by 1996~.

Another weird experience I had: I have autism and all of my teachers thought I had a British accent. They ended up forcing me into this 1-on-1 speech therapy where I was reprimanded for not “speaking like an American.” That really fucked with my head when I was little, almost splitting me into two separate people. I genuinely think it gave me a mental illness. Now, 30+ years later, I’ve been institutionalized five times and am having to see a specialist in dissociation.

Therapists always insist that I’ve been “traumatized” and yet I genuinely don’t even remember any trauma. They’ve always shrugged it off when I say I think it relates to being isolated in GATE and then even more isolated with the school’s speech pathologist.

It’s frankly disgusting that they would take a child like me and force them to solve murders.

I would say that GATE had pros and cons, but the cons were extraordinarily disruptive to healthy development. I’m fine with them trying to teach sophisticated reasoning skills, but isolating me and then creating fun puzzles related to murder scenarios seems like a wicked combo

I don’t think I had any Truman Show moments, but I did have frequent deja vu, dissociation, a NDE, temporal lobe seizures with visual aura, and chronic migraines. I was learning about NDEs, astral projection, and eschatology before puberty. My head is too big to fit into standard helmets. I believed in ghosts, writing about them in a daily journal. I’m not sure if any of that is relevant.

I was unusually in both the Talented And Gifted (TAG) and special education programs at school. From the little I can recall fairly quickly I don't remember anything ominous. In 3rd grade they took me out of class a bunch to do little activities but I'm not remembering much of them. In middle school and high school they were completely irrelevant, like you went to one or two meetings per year. Those meetings were all about boring school stuff. I didn't take an interest in the rat race of the school system, work for good grades, so you can work for an AP class, so you can work for a good college... I think they expected you to just be taking AP classes and stuff rather than needing some TAG program.

Interestingly, I have not only experienced some undeniably supernatural stuff but also seemed to have caused it, but this was but only after graduating high school. If I carelessly talk about it too much I could end up doxing myself.

If you're going to believe in ominous TAG programs it makes much more sense to believe in psychic round-ups being disguised as TAG programs rather than TAG programs being solely made to disguise psychic round-ups.

I was in it from 1st to 5th grade from I guess 98 to 2003. They called it Renaissance class where I lived and told us not to talk about the class to other students so they didn’t feel bad. I remember we’d be in a class with no windows or the windows were darkened. Read books like the giver and did projects like making up our own coded alphabet or building structurally sound bridges out of popsicle sticks, designing a house for the 3 little pigs that a wolf couldn’t get into, and one time we had to set up booths that represented different things from 1700s America (mine was a general store others were smiths or preachers or whatever). Every few weeks we had a different subject to learn like mythology, people like da Vinci, or aviation, or we read the giver, or just something boring like math. Oh yeah I remember us watching the old hobbit movie. It all seemed random and yeah I remember the hearing/ ambience tests and puzzles. The 2 teachers I had stayed with me all those years but I never saw them anywhere else. They’d test your iq and really try to get you to out accelerated reading tests. I’ve got several of the physical traits and situational things that the gate meme describes if not most of them. Even the gf thing but she wasn’t Israeli afaik. Also have always had weird shit happen to me. Paranormal or whatever and I’ve been studying the occult for 15 years now. Another odd thing is it sounds like I have a large recollection of the classes but there definitely are a lot of gaps in memory but being it could be how long ago or just how selective my memory is or doing drugs all through my 20s. Unfortunately, we aren't actually allowed to discuss this subject. There were compartmentalized projects that took place over the last few decades, Pegasus for example (veracity is unimportant, just an example), which used children as subjects.
