She's "our lady of the sea foam" due to her birth story and depending on the epithet you use for her she has domain over sea voyages.

She also has strong military ties due to being an adaptation of Ishtar who was a war Goddess along with a fertility goddess. (IMO Ishtar, Aphrodite, and Venus are one because they all derive many ideas from the former as well as having similar domains.) These ties can also be seen in how her husband is Hephasteus, the God of the forge.
