They are basically a "run of the mill occult group" as far as Hermetic occultism goes, but that isn't what makes the ONA special. They're special because they push themselves and also encourage personal development through what they call "insight roles". These are basically where you go and learn about an ideology that is the opposite of your preferences or beliefs. For some, this means going to do something either dangerous or uncomfortable. Sometimes even going and learning a whole new way of life. The life of David Myatt is a case study of insight roles. He was involved in neo-Nazi groups in the UK and Islam. He was a student of Thelemic Magick. Dude was later a hardcore student of Greek literature. Very smart dude though. ONA is hard to seperate from David Myatt.

The answer most won't tell you is that you can do it no matter what "race" you are. Savitri Devi and Miguel Serrano were not white people, but contributed to the corpus of the ONA. It would help to know what cultural background you are, because each culture has it's own "Sinister" path.

It's weird, man. I actually did the whole Islam thing, but more for initiatory reasons. I was even studying to become an imam in Luton. I was a Zen Buddhist disciple, too. I never did any of it because I believed in the spiritualities themselves. I could expand on that if you wanted, because it wasn't anything predatory.
