What about the glowies who patrolled this board? Many of them work for US military, and are extremely patriotic and proud of their country, but they fight their own citizens on express expressing the truth. All for the benefit of Israel.

People rarely do what they hate at the time, because they could be doing something else. But you get a lot of guilt and suicides later, in people whose job it was to fuck with people. They realize over time that they weren't fighting Evil in the name of Good, it's a bunch of assholes who are in between on both sides. Nor were they fighting for their country so much as a few assholes who mostly corruptly got to be in charge. Fact is you need a military to exist as an independent anything, otherwise you're absorbed, but it doesn't make you "the good guys".

And some are just sociopaths who never will care, and they probably do like their jobs a lot if they get money and respect for them.

Like others have mentioned patriotism is the main drive for jobs like that, but there is almost certainly also a layer of extreme indoctrination (the exact nature of which I could only speculate) involved, more extreme the higher up the ladder you go.

His performance and the reaction was weird. He had a backdrop set up, would've done sound checks, has a reputation, but it wasn't until after the whole performance that people said anything?
