I think its more because these are considered or trying to at least be the original dark/unseen mother of everything. They were pushing the idea of us being born of a blackhole type of thing (which is why they push the out of africa, and africans created everything psyop)
Except naturally it works the other way around because nothing comes out from a black hole, so far the theory goes, all it does is suck and vacuum everything instead lol
Not much of a giving and nurting goddess and you can see the actual effects it has on their societies when she is adopted as the main deity
Anyway there is also the possibility that Athena was Metis herself whom Zeus ate to avoid being replaced by his son that was never actually born.
In fact Athena and Aphrodite are just the same, which can be summed up in something like Ishtar, just an unstable, haughty bitch that wants to take everything from everybody without thinking of the world at large just her smaller boundaries and how much she can have and enjoy for herself.
