revisiting music from almost 10 years ago feels weird eerie, it feels like the music its self has changed, it feels like the same thing as the Mandela effect, the music has changed it doesnt feel the same at all, or sound the same as it did when it was new

The music doesnt "sound" the same because you didn't really like it in the first place but it was popular and pushed with high budget production. You no longer get the social stimulus if being part of the [current thing] when you listen so it probably sounds and feels sort of "empty"

It feels the same to me. The only difference is that I’m now older and a lot of the people who made music are dead or their careers are dead.

What changed is your brain, different neurons and different connections perceived music differently.
The person that you were that listened to those songs no longer exists.

the novelty of music wanes as the hour passes. priorities shift, interests shift.

There is no such thing as a physical cause. Brains are just crude in-game control panels.

They're the physical representation of what's happening.
Think of a chessboard, it is used to hold the information of the board state, even though that state could be held by someone imagining the board while playing blindfold, the board still represents the state that is happening.
