Suffering is just a sensation. Pain is a sensation no different from rubbing your fingers on some material like grass or carpet. The only reason people obsess over suffering as a catalyst for spiritual questions is because suffering precedes death and makes death more appealing than living and so raises questions about the afterlife. If I got kidnapped and tortured by the cartel or thrown into the fires of hell I would quickly become acclimated, the immediacy of pain would lesson and it would become apparent how hollow and illusory my sensations are. Same with pleasure or any other human experience.

If I experience suffering with no change then it is as if I am stuck in an infinite loop, no different from experiencing the same sensation over and over again with no change. Otherwise my subjective experience evolves and I gain spiritual growth, for which I thank God

i believe pain is suffering and them being the same thing negative uncomfortable experiences are suffering yes this existance and all it's attachments might cause pain to people but i wouldn't blame all that on desire per se i mean just having a body is suffering so
