Gnosticism was probably inspired by eastern philosophical schools of thought like Buddhism and maybe Zoroastrianism.

Jesus is Sabaoth (he’s one of the good ones): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sabaoth_(Gnosticism)

Buddha is chill too. Jesus and Buddha were both pneumatics in the gnostic sense. They both achieved gnosis. I would also argue Buddha technically qualifies as a saint in the Christian/gnostic sense.

Jesus: A Jewish myth (probably Christ)
Christ: the "light" that became human and protected and showed us the path to enlightenment
Buddha: A follower of Christ, he himself became "light"

My headcanon as a half-educated Buddhist first and a tentative Gnostic second is that Jesus was a deva who descended from Rupaloka (the form realm) into Kamaloka (the desire realm) to help free everyone who was trapped there by weakening the influence of mara and the lower gods and widening the path upward for those in the near-death state. So maybe the seemingly benevolent light being people often meet in NDEs and think of as Jesus really is (at least sometimes) Jesus, not a trap like the prison planet people say.

The Gnostic Jesus gives you Direct Knowledge, and First-hand contact Experience with God through Clarity and Transcendence, without having to go to middle managers like deacons, ministers, preachers, prophets, saints, priests, Bishops, rabbis, mullahs, Religious, or the Church! He was not here to save you from your petty sins, make you pay indulgences, go to confession, and put up with their FUD! That is why the Church has tried to kill it off for millennia, and I do mean kill!! They fought a war of extermination against the Cathars for 100 years in France because Gnosticism was that threatening to them! They didn't discriminate between Catholics and Gnostics - they wanted them all deader-than-dead! And they burned their scrolls because they differed from the Orthodox "Truth". But, many of them have ben found!

Some Gnostics and Marcionites see Jesus as good, but the Old Testament god as evil and not part of the trinity

In Old Testament God was before Good and Evil was. And God is part of the trinity : Father, Son and Mother.
