Hello /x/ I finally really need y'all.

Ever since I was young I've had extremely vivid nightmares, some of which I still remember from the age of 10. The other night I had one that really shook me, it came after a bender of alcohol and mushrooms.

Most of the dream was just weird. I was moving into a new town, met a bunch of people, it was surreal. Ended up in a strange barn with a bunch of the town folk who were all my age, a few attractive girls. Don't remember much of what happened besides just talking to some people, specifically one girl yelling out her window to me about something I was doing, it was friendly. Another moment where I was with 3 guys and we were just chilling. Somewhat normal dream stuff except a big note here is that I never have recurring nightmares but I do have recurring locations in these nightmares.

This is where it get's weird.

After being around this town for a bit, I drove home to my "apartment" not my apartment in real life but a place I have lived in at least one other nightmare. I got home and felt confused because I thought for some reason I had a roommate but it seemed only I lived there. I had a cat and was panicked because I knew this cat had been alone for a bit un fed since my roommate was gone. I was running around and started cleaning and getting my clothes changed. All of the sudden I saw a black man dressed in a nice black overcoat with a red suit. I heard him say "Is anyone home?" but when I went to answer I couldn't speak so I gestured to him that I couldn't talk. He then looked at me and said "I'll be back" with a smile and walked away. Didn't feel threatened but was overwhelmed by seeing him. Then I woke up, and when I did I immediately thought I had encountered death. My lifestyle and health have been degrading for years from alcohol and substance abuse. I'm 3 days sober after having this dream.

Just wanted to see if anyone here thinks that was a God of some sort or Demon coming to warn me time is running out.

I don't think it was neither, but that you think it was and that you felt this way definitely sounds like a wake up call. It's good to hear you are sober, keep it up, don't give up, don't be desperate either.

Better to re-examine yourself and suffer a small death than refuse and suffer a big one.

Wizard

witch-dreams and wizard-dreams have a different tone
Generally witch-dreams are somewhat sexual and involve the witch convincing you to do something that benefits her by your own power... for some reason
wizard-dreams tend to be a bit nicer

The wizard here is, of course, the black man in the red suit.
It's implied that he's looking for the roommate, meaning that the roommate being missing is probably a representation of him trying to awaken knowledge you had, but forgot.
This is also tied into the meaning of him saying he'll return at a later time - he'll come back when you remember.

It might be that he has good intentions, it might be that he has bad intentions. It might be both!
It's hard to tell with wizards.
