Yes its going to shit. Content only for paid viewers. Slopped together compilation videos. Sponser ads taking up a 3rd of all new videos. The "stripped" videos being the opposite of what made the channel good. The quality is being replaced with cash grab videos. Hence stripped. Is there another person like A.J that hasnt sold out yet that i can check out?

I recently started a channel where I narrate Greentext stories, but with sound effects, music, and effort. So many channels are just slop now

Idk if that's also what you're looking for

Chass is a classic YT channel and I HEAVILY recommend ThinkAnomalous for explorations into the paranormal.

Not to be mean, but any channel that focuses on greentext stories is immediately "slop" to me. The stories themselves are obviously fake and bad, and the videos are very low effort, because c'mon, you're just reading something that someone else wrote.

WhyFiles is just controlled disclosure, like Alex Jones and David Icke, mixing in truth with false information, to keep you distracted

Yeah that's fair

I hope to expand it to case files of aliens and folklore alongside it as I get more editing experience and gain more viewership, in a video essay format

He covered all the topics he could find and now he is out of topics and ideas.

This is why his current videos are boring and lazy. He is also desperate for money and started putting "membership" paywalls on his old videos.

I've got plenty of topics for him to cover.

One of which is the story of Jerry Wills. Hard to find information on him but there are some longer interviews and I believe him.

Ancient aliens also covers the topic Aramu Muru as well.

It explains our existence really.

He's not even schizo. Some blatant anti government messaging in his videos, but he tries to debunk basically every claim from the stuff he covers. If you want some real schizo conent, watch That Is Impossible or the owner's personal channel where he spends more time on individual things.

>Slopped together compilation videos.
I knew it was over when he asked viewers to let his 3 hour compilation videos run in the background with the volume down while they were sleeping so he could generate income.

AJ himself isn't an investigator. He's the presenter for his production team. They repackage existing research in an entertaining way and they're running out of subjects to cover.

Youtube makes it so that if you're not churning out content weekly at a minimum creators fall off. Shows like X-Files or Ancient Aliens had seasons of 13 episodes or whatever and had a lot of time off-season to come up with new stuff. I don't think his channel is sustainable in it's present format. He's going to have to pivot to current events commentary or work as a lackey for Alex ones.

Surprisingly insightful take for anon on a basket weaving forum. I did often wonder when watching the why files when the channel would lose steam because as you said there’s a point where you’re just gonna run out shit to talk about, unless you interview people with weird stories. I do find your connection between legacy tv and modern online media interesting, the guys now can’t afford to skip a beat which is something we don’t think about. They end up becoming slaves to the algorithm, what started off as a fun hobby turns into a never ending grind.

I think the issue is specialization. It’s one thing to raid phantoms and monsters and just go for ghosts, and Bigfoot. His problem is that he has to spread out the variety to never be pigeonholed.
That’s a balancing act that takes considerable skill.
Add to that there is a constant need to out perform and you have the trap that all story tellers have… what does the character do after saving the world?
If every episode is the biggest and best then it becomes an arms race for bigger productions, better stories, more incredible stories.
You can’t get that without having a fantastical story that is always fake.
So I think regardless of whether people like it, this has year is a sort of tolerance break for the guy.
If he isn’t controlled opposition he’s falling off. It’s hard to spin the plates of public interest.

i thought it went to shit because he went from covering all the usual, albeit seldomly ever spoken about, conspiracies, but..then it all went downhill after the Mel’s Hole episode and a lot of the old Art Bell stuff. (((They))) even updated the placeholder image on google maps several times over… I don’t think the spooks like random industry plants talking about things too close to home, so he switched it up to the harry-potter fan fiction. Ironically, the same grifter-esque path that Wendigoon bloke followed, as well.

Something about history rhyming..
