Is there any merit to paganism or is it just another empty religion? Anyone deep into it that may offer insight? Is it worth getting into?

This is going to depend on your own ability to learn, anon. Different pagan paths focus on different things. Even the specific deities you worship will make your experience different from others who follow the same pantheon.

I am learning to be at peace with myself, learning of nature, deconstructing what it means to be civilized, and practicing magic along the way. Other pantheons may teach something different to what I am doing.

I recommend diving into one that interests you, and dissect why it's interesting. At the very least, the introspection is good for you.

The story of paganism has changed, demonizing the old gods goes beyond just saying they’re evil, it actually turns them evil in some cases or changes them, the ways of gods are strange, the story has changed, so the true religion has also changed, going back to an old version of the truth is not going to the truth, many of these people are deceived, but others may be legit in some way. Certain old traditions definitely hold true and many entities are unchanged also.

Wanting to accept some laid out doctrine is spiritual laziness, dive into the void, discover the true true.

The last guys who took pagan myths and legends serious and were able to read between the lines ended up building the chariots of the Gods (UFOS) and established a breakaway civilization far away from this reincarnation hell realm.
