Did a ritual to dantalion. Deep in the woods camping. Aunt had died the day before and I was on a journey to go deal with the corpse situation. Asked for my dark, lowly wife. Offered to tell the tale one day to honor the unseen world. Three weeks later I went back to that spot having forgotten about the whole thing. My ritual was very plain and came from within and without external instruction or guidance, and I selected dantalion because I felt drawn there. I drew a sigil, no circle of protection. I stood unafraid and greeted him and showed no fear.

Ghost lights calling me across a deep river, and decomposers like centipedes crawling all over my body as I lay in the moss among the broken sticks. In the morning, I spoke with the spirit dwelling in a big Douglas fir and it taught me a lesson about the ALL that I will never forget in this life or others. It disappeared before dawn and I felt somehow I had passed some test of character by showing no fear and becoming one with the forest. Then, 2 months later, a girl I knew as a child who had run away and became a hooker showed up and we made a few kids over the next years. A dark, evil BPD bride, and a weirdly charmed life (70% of the time. 30% of the time it's fucking demonic) are my result. Me? I am undamned. And dantalion has not bothered me. The feel of dantalion is "I AM the flame that burns and purifies. Those who wish my take my flame and become alight, and i am undiminished. Those who reject my flame leave me undiminished."

I realized I chose dantalion because he and I are of the same nature in this way. Goetic entities can be bargained with, coerced, or manipulated. They can be controlled as well, but all of these result in an ongoing relationship and you do not want this generally. The best encounters with the goetic powers are those that look most like Alexander meeting Diogenes. Being respectful and respectable.

I feel it is very important to note:
I sought Dantalion as a broken and hurt man deep in the throws of grief. I did not ask him for anything that he could provide me which was not already mine to possess.
I was a man, injured along a road way, on a quest I understood. I knew my bride's soul well and simply asked that he send her my way and that he permit me to recognize her when I see her.
She was already on the way in a sense and I was already capable of seeing her for who she was.
Dantalion simply had my back. These sorts of requests make you one who is respectable because whether or not powers assist, you are seen as a powerful and capable, sentient being of free will and this is respected, even by the demonic.
I made dantalion a fair offer. I'd tell the story. Here I am. It was that easy. One and done, no check ins, no option to text later. That sort of thing.
These things do not exactly "want" to come hear your pathetic requests. Most of the time they are summoned, I imagine it has to be like a jeet telemarketing call and they can't wait to fuck Sandeep over.
