Is it possible to acquire crime scene photos/autopsy photos via freedom of information act requests? Specifically, the Benoit murder scene and the Tim Treadwell autopsy.
Furthermore, why do some crime scene photos (such as OJ, Grant Amato, the Madden shooter) leak but others are unobtainium? Does this material just sit in a locked file cabinet somewhere for all eternity or is it destroyed?

Cobains suicide scene pics (of his actual body, face included) would’ve been long released if that was the case and the Seattle PD won’t do it, I think they’ve even said they’ve gone as far as destroying the remaining unreleased polaroids

If TPTB want you to see something you don't have to ask. If they don't they'll come up with a bullshit reason it wouldn't be legal. If you prove that wrong they'll come up with another one.
