This is going to sound crazy, but hear me out. There are many people who are crazy about serial killers and other sensationalized crimes. There are people who are obsessed with pedophiles and pedophilia. It is not a huge stretch to think that when someone is always thinking about something or watching things related to something, that they might be capable of engaging in that thing. Sandy Hook was a strange case and even if it was totally legit, there are still places where the math is not mathing so to speak. Huge problems arise when you look at various reasons why such a thing would be staged. It was also used to make anyone who questions the narrative look bad because "dead kids" are hard to argue with. Plus, Adam being an autist was another thing that made any skepticism about the events look even worse. People would just think you're crazy for not thinking an autist could cold bloodly murder children in an elementary school. Thankfully I don't care about that. I only want people to start thinking about their government and the powers that be in a new light. Be skeptical of any massive event unless there is total transparency.

Yeah but you have to wonder why the powers that be would use tech like that when they don't need to for something as high profile as that. There would also be shitloads of leaks and evidence of an actual break away civilization. That's just extrapolating twenty years from where we are now. The closest thing I can think of to a successful op like that would be the Manhattan Project. That was just one piece of technology and the only way to keep it secret was to have isolated groups making the systems in parallel. The bomb came from that. The bomb didn't recursively iterate on itself at runaway speeds. Even if someone got a Manhattan Project together and successfully made AGI it wouldn't stay AGI for more than a few minutes.
