Why would aliens look anything like us? I've never heard a good explanation that wasn't "they seeded life" which would cause so many other problems as far as the timeline goes. Because we can trace all life here to a single organism. Mammals being top dog at all has only happened once so far. I guess I could see some bipedal raptor looking guys as humanoid. They seeded life. Life naturally evolved one earth though. Seeding life can be grafting DNA into a species, its not simply placing a species somewhere. As for appearance, in the realm where all psychic interactions occur, everything is a manifestation of thought. Beings can shape shift at will.
The more advanced beings have a wider range of shapes their consciousness can hold onto as a manifestation of their will.
Human form though, is part of what our souls meant to become when they came to this galaxy.
