My initial answer was going to be 'not much' but that is because I'm complacent and tend to take thigns for granted. It's been long enough now that it's harder than it used to be to appreciate just the effect it used to have on me. Avoiding forgetting that is actaully a key part of staying clean and sober.

First off, I have just been much more productive. I currently work my 'dream' job, a development that began about 470 days in.

That happened because I wasn't giving half of every day to cooming and it turned out I had more time than I realised to pursue things.

Having said that, outcomes like that were not why I stopped.

Main thing after the first year was getting a handle on fantasy and the images that occasionally pop up in my mind. Praying for their removal is the only solid way i've found of doing it, as it can be done instantly when they arise.

To answer: Sort of.

I don't know if I would subscribe to the belief in Semen Retention that some might have in here, though admittedly I don't know the concept super well.

From what I do know I suspect like many of these things there is a lot of embellishment and exaggerated claims made about it, but at it's core it is hitting on some deeper instinctive truth.
As a christian I believe in spiritual and demonic forces. Lust is a like a direct highway for those forces to get to you. Also in terms of emotions cooming totally fries your pleasure/excitement receptors and puts them well out of whack like abusing any drug will.

So not engaging in it will probably give you a boost of energy just because you aren't messing yourself up as much spiritually and emotionally.

It's a stick and carrot thing for me. Some days i stay sober because i see the benefits of it, some days becasue I remember the pain of what it was like. Both can be useful, particularly at the start to get some momentum. But the latter has been more solid for me long term in terms of not going back.

This is a disease of forgetting. It's very easy once things go well to forget what it was like and almost all of my relapses prior to this happened as a result of that.
