I saw someone say there's literally only two actual steps: attaching to the new reality and detaching from the current one. Detaching is the hard part.

Any tips for detaching that don't involve drugs, going for a week without sleep, etc.?

Just act as if you are in the reality you want to be in. You would likely have different job, live in different part of the town, hang out with different friends. It's not directly fake you till you make it, identify the shiftpoint to lure the reality you want to be closer to, to easily jump the timelines. What decisions would you make differently?

Yes, and more than that, my theory is that realities are actually frozen, and what we perceive at Time passing, things changing and evolving, is our linear move through the multidimensional matrix of realities. If we didn't reality shifted, everything would stay frozen. For this move is linear, things keep evolving in the same direction and nothing unexpected ever happen. Some events, like the LHC doing funny stuff, make us jump, then we notice that some little things have changed. So if you could take control of the direction of your move, you could choose your future. However, the more improbable an event, the more far away that line is, and the more difficult it is to shift to it.
Well, that is my theory. I never ever got to make anything happen so it's probably just shit.

I experience this all the time. Sometimes I feel the thoughts of something I am thinking about 'drain' out of my mind even though I am actively thinking them to retain as much as possible. Clearly in what ever reality I am being transported into I am not thinking those thoughts, so the context of knowing them disappears and so to does the memory.
It's really frustrating because it usually happens when I come up with a real doozy.
