Actually the real demons aren't interested in collecting souls. They want to rule the human world, and that's why they want people to be traitors on humanity and promote the demonic agenda. As a reward they give people skills. Can be that stars are talented because of this. In many cases it's witches who work for the demons because they get dark magic powers from them.

He meant he sold his soul to the Phoenicians, not "the devil". He obviously had a team of ghostwriters running his career during his better years, as did most artists like The Beatles. I won't deny some of the music is good (the elite actually gave kind of a shit about art back then, even if their intentions were connected to their Intelligence projects) but pretty much every famous musician is a plant.
