you should look it up and then you'd have one less confusion to deal with. The short of it is that the foil on the descent stage legs was mainly to prevent any uneven solar heating of the mechanism which allowed them to extend once the LM was extracted from the S1V-B third stage. If those legs could not be extended it was a mission cancelling problem.
The other areas of the descent stage were covered to help keep the various storage areas from heating up, which could then have caused the super critical helium tanks to heat up faster than was allowable, as that would raise tank pressures to the point where again, a mission cancelling event can occur.
