Well the issue you're running into is that your original identity made a tulpa in order to escape pain.
So every time you get close to the topic of where your new identity came from, you get upset. The suppressed emotions are coming back.

You did it for emotional reasons. And those reasons haven't gone away.

And if you do go back to being that original identity, the negativity you wanted to avoid will come back. Thus, you don't want to do that.
