I've been using Demons of Magick by Gallery of Magick, Goetia Pathworking and Lucifer & the hidden demons with success thus far. Is the whole old grimoire stuff needed at all when simpler methods just work?

Usually believed that more complex stuff isn't really necessary. In fact you can have ritual without any stuff if you have right mind state and good connection with a spirit.
So basically if it works this way then it's good. If it doesn't then just play around and find out what works. It's highly subjective topic and there is no silver bullet method that works for everyone.
In your case simple method works then no problem. You surely can add more complex mechanics into it but it's usually done when people know what they are doing.

Ok so to expand on my experience, I use those simpler methods but I might use some props like candles or incense sometimes. I've had success without props but I feel they help. I suspect the ability to use those props (e.g. quiet and solitude enough to light them without arousing questions) is more important than the props themselves.

I'm very fond of the books from the Gallery of Magick, that demons book is a real gem too I'm still going through the hoops of the 3rd ritual for a specific demon that has my liking. Can't share stories about that because I have not invoked/summoned a demon in full form yet.

But I have gotten good results from the few demon workings I have done using their methods and there hasn't been any drawback that I know of yet. Of course, I'm more of the type to gift and make offerings so that could be adding more to it.

I have done angel workings too but there's something more homely and familiar with demons.

I haven't gotten any result with the pathworking books though.... not sure if I have a blockage or something but evrrything else from GoM works just fine.

Those "jewish cryptids" are pre-abrahamic gods in a lot of cases. For example, Astaroth which is Ishtar or Astarte.
In fact it's not a bad thing to include work with pagan spirits into demonolatry because basic concepts work with them too. It's not a tradition but kind of framework rather

If it works then continue to use them. As you said it's really possible not props doing work but rather quiet environment. 80% of result is your mood and mental state and other 20% is props, time of the day, moon phases and deity's mood.
On other hand some props can definitely disrupt connection and attract someone uninvited. In best case they will not have bad intentions but rather be curious but it's not always this way.
So always do cleansing. At least basic one

I use either the Sword Banishing or the Circle of Power , both from the Gallery of Magick. The latter is somewhat similar to the LBRP (take that with a grain of salt, i have no practical experience with the LBRP). The former is shorter and perfect to perform on the go as it doesn't require me to face a particular direction or to make any gestures. I've used the Sword Banishing in trains, cars, buses, even on an airplane.
