Well, you run out of esoteric building blocks quickly unless you start pulling outlandish bullshit outa your arse. Likely that Jungian thing, right. Rest is probably just personal flavor, some obsession here, some OOB experience there... then it gets passed down the line, gets invariably misunderstood... likely had most of it figured out by the end of the last ice age and went through cycles of partial amnesia. At least the shamans of old knew most of what they did was highly interpretative.

Think it is just too empty, same as all that new age stuff, now be it hippie crystals or satanism or the bloody galactic federation!
