Look, I get that for some people these drugs are necessary. But right now many people in the west are being forced to take medication that blocks states of mind that should be studied rather than medicated away. I understand that if a person can't look after themselves then potentially, they need to be medicated, but why does psychosis need to be medicated away if the individual is taking care of themselves? Whenever I enter the state of "psychosis" and I get sent to hospital, I meet people who have knowledge they shouldn't really have, and often, as soon as they're medicated the knowledge leaves them. I can't, I've managed to avoid the injections so far, but my family are trained to spot any signs of psychosis, one more hospital trip will lead to injections. I'm on antipsychotic injections. They're not that bad for me. I was getting images in my head constantly and I couldn't function very well before them. I was completely immersed in delusions and fantasies because the voices I hear (and sitll hear even after the antipsychotics) kept fucking with me. It was a nightmare.

I’ve been on invega injections for 9 years. I have been stable since, do really well in my career, I’m a good mom and in a healthy relationship. But I struggle with my mind all the time, this pain in the side of my head, feeling like I’m blocked. I asked about going off them but my dr said I could have psychosis again and I’m not sure that’s a gamble I can take. The old me feels dead. Also it’s very hard to sit still or watch tv. My brain feels it’s 10 steps ahead but in a blocked way if that makes sense. Also my hormones are fucked. On top of that I take more meds to counteract the side effects of invega.
