Cults are basically when dark entities pick someone and give them magical charisma, the best ego trip of their lives, sometimes even legit psychic powers, so in return they can create a loosh feeding frenzy for them.
I don't have personal experience being in a cult, but I've spent half my life mixing and matching the occult, drugs, mystical practices, energy work, in all the ways they tell people not to, it really does attract dark entities. I don't quite understand them but they are varied and can be quite sophisticated. They seek people out to recruit them to do things, to be a puppet leader for them, various things like commit crimes, create emotionally charged situations for them to feed off of.
