So here's the twist.

The Bible and arguably the Torah too are simply part of usual perennial cultural cycles of religion/philosophy which mirror economic and worldy authority; In which overly complex, Synchretic or amalgamated traditions are rectified, consolidated or covered up to make way for the new(usually after some mystic factions win over others). Much of the inspiration for the old testament stems from older/local traditions which indeed are also Caananite. The difference being they're sanitized and edited to have "He who must not be named" as the narrator or Deity; When it's a plurality or not even a God as the original witness/watcher for the source material.

What you're referring too is the villainized aspects of the divine self or ego as manifested through dualsitic thought(yes, even the malefic). This isn't inherently a bad thing and not all traditions even within those supercultures have such an antagonistic view. The reason you belive this and there is a general tendency for such modes of thought is due in part because most people are too weak or lacking in some capacity to resist either etheric influence/capture or worldly deception/compromise. This is a strawmaning of individual urges/desires in order to "tame" man as opposed to have him be sovereign. You see this reflected in the traditional Greek Gnostic sects where they strawman the divine self or worldly authority as "Demiurge/Archon". When in fact, they're stuck in the portico and don't understand it's the opposite.

Who you're really referring too in this case is more accurately labeled Atman on the individual/divine level and Brahma on the earthly/collective level. Yes, you're actually backwards and most Gods/Devas see you as cattle and unfortunately most people really are. They're not actually what you think they are and mostly operate as collective of lower level entities who interact with humanity directly and indirectly(see the Hierarchy of Angels or "The Metatron", as a western example).
