As the dead internet thread is growing repetitive and irrelevant by the day let's discuss some other topics that are of similar interest.

What is the Noosphere? The Noosphere is a concept developed by the Jesuit theologian Pierre Teilhard de Chardin and the Biogeochemist Vladimir Vernadsky, which revolves around the idea of a sphere of thought and consciousness that exists on a higher plane than the biosphere. Thus, it has the capacity to affect our environment. Though Vernandsky focused on this interruption of the Biosphere, Teilhard believed that it represented a state of evolution that began with inert matter, all the way to finally reach the Omega Point, the perfect state of human nature.

Though it never left its conception as a theory, some people believe that the so-called Schumann Resonances are, in fact, tangible evidence of this concept.

I'll leave some links for further Reading on the topic:

You gotta think this backwards much longer. The first information stored in the RNA world was already a noospheric event. Unified informational field theory, simple as. Cave paintings were the first hard drive.

I've never heard of this as a formal concept before until now but I was just talking about this with someone in relation to the Mayan calendar predictions which aligns the point in time where basically every single human was connected through a global network everywhere at the same time. If you subscribe to the idea that the Mayan calendar was not a predictor of the end of the world but the end of an era for civilization and the transition to a new era it fits pretty well.

Smartphones were introduced around 2007 but it took a few years for it to gain international adoption to a point where for the first time in history all human beings were connected through a digital network, linking all of our minds instantaneously. Smartphones are basically mandatory and a necessary part of basic need for all humans at this point.

It also was the initial point where humanity beings its transition from billions of individual consciousness into some kind of superconsciousness that is shared across the entire globe, similar to how all of the individual cells in your body share a single consciousness that is your ego.

OP here.
One of the reasons I made this thread so closely related to SEL is that the internet works as an artificial noosphere in the way a great part of human knowledge is stored with ease of access, thanks to hypertext. But as I read into this concept further, I realise, like >>40780337 said, that the fact that the internet is manmade doesn't make it alien to the noosphere. After all, telecommunications work because of the Schumann Resonances. If we could manage to somehow tap into this sphere, we could actively alter our reality, though in the great scheme of things, it would be as difficult as an inert object of the geosphere interacting with a living being of the biosphere.

Though Vernadsky's theories contribute to the understanding, I prefer Teilhard's vision in the sense that movement is the natural state of our universe. Everything begins as inert matter, Geosphere, then it becomes alive through direct intervention of God, Biosphere (Gen. 2:7), and although I believe every living being has a consciousness, only the human knows it has one and thus, through disobedience in this case, we gain it, Noosphere (Gen 3:22). And where is God in all this? in the Omega Point or Christosphere as Teilhard puts it.

This literally never happened. Many people in the world live in dire poverty and don't even have what to eat.

Also, there are several people who are literal babies and aren't connected to anything.

So is humanity destined to become God? Sort of. As the Omega Point is the final slab of evolution and the place where God resides and controls the other spheres, it would be logical to assume we could also gain this power as we ascend. Most Christians, myself included, believe that eternal life means ascension into this plane of existence, living in communion with God. I don't think we exactly become Gods, but we get to go back to the source that created us, this time carrying with us all the knowledge we gained throughout our experience.

Does the omega point have a relationship to omegaverse fanfiction about sex? (It doesn't, I just think that writing that is funny)
