London, 1963. Scottish prostitute Mary Ann MacLean meets architect Robert de Grimston at a Scientology church. Together, they create their own cult, the Process Church of the Final Judgment, or simply the Process. They blend elements of Christianity and devil worship: alongside Jesus, they venerate Jehovah, Lucifer, and Satan. The Process headquarters is located in the upscale Mayfair district on Balfour Street, where the followers open a coffee bar called “Satan’s Cavern” on the ground floor. One of the followers, Michael Mountain, preaches about an impending apocalypse, holding a white dog in one hand and a black dog in the other.
USA, 1967. The Process is thriving, expanding to open branches in several U.S. cities. Mary Ann and Robert meet Anton LaVey and publish a popular culture and music magazine featuring The Beatles and Rolling Stones. The Process has close ties with Charles Manson, Paul McCartney, Mick Jagger, and Marianne Faithfull (daughter of a British intelligence major and a Habsburg aristocrat) key figures in the so-called British (musical) invasion, an effort allegedly driven by British intelligence to dominate American culture with Britrock.
But their rituals are even more intriguing. Starting in 1968, California authorities report cases of dogs found skinned and drained of blood. In New York, from 1976, 85 German shepherds and Dobermanns are discovered with their hides removed. It later emerges that this is part of the Process’s initiation ritual called “The Four P,” named after the cult’s symbol and its four-faced deity (Jesus-Jehovah-Lucifer-Satan). From the mid-1970s, the cult begins to fracture, with MacLean and de Grimston falling out.

Did animal rights activists bring down the cult? Not at all, because the Process is the animal rights movement. In 1982, the satanic Process Church changes its name and becomes the animal welfare organisation BEST FRIENDS ANIMAL SOCIETY. Today, it is one of (if not the) largest and most influential animal protection organisations in the U.S., with a presence in every state. Michael Mountain (or Father Aaron) becomes its president for 25 years.
What does BEST FRIENDS ANIMAL SOCIETY (BFAS) do now?
They aim to “save them all.” With vast financial resources, legal support, and connections in state governments, BFAS promotes lifelong shelter care and adoption of as many dangerous and unadaptable dogs as possible. BFAS spends nearly a million dollars annually on lobbying and over $5 million on propaganda, advertising, and marketing. Today, BFAS either owns or supports shelters in every state.
The organisation particularly loves pit bulls. Since its founding (or rather, rebranding), BFAS has promoted pit bulls (fighting dogs requiring specialised owner training) as sweet family pets. They’ve spread the myth that pit bulls were historically “nannies” allegedly kept in families to watch over children. They publish guides for media and shelters on concealing the breed in cases of fatal or severe attacks.
Beyond spreading dangerous propaganda, BFAS and its followers try to silence victims of attacks: discrediting groups and websites, collecting confidential information, and threatening victims and their families.

What do we have by 2025? In the U.S., pit bulls kill, on average, 1.5 people every week and one pet EVERY DAY. Between 66% and 70% of fatal dog attacks involve this breed. This year, pit bulls have already killed 37 Americans and are on track for a record. For comparison, in Russia, fewer than 5 fatal dog attacks on humans have been reported since the start of the year.
The numbers have been rising faster since COVID, when bored Americans flocked to shelters for their “best friends”. Nine out of ten dogs in shelters are pit bulls. Dogs of other breeds are adopted instantly, while pit bulls linger (think about why). Shelters, especially those under BFAS’s influence, resort to tricks and outright deception to place pit bulls in families unprepared for aggressive dogs—hiding their history of killing other pets or attacking people. Increasingly, shelters take on the noble “No Kill” mission, meaning even aggressive dogs that have attacked remain available for adoption.
Thus, an organisation founded and run by British satanists openly aims to place a killer dog in every American family.
