This world at its current state is actually just a giant metaphysical battle between the "nothing ever happens" and "something is happening" people.
The nothing ever happens people aren't doing it on purpose. Its this almost fearful subconscious desire to want everything to be the same tomorrow as it was today. The idea that things simply can't stop, your work will be there and your home and your money and society will continue to exist tomorrow because it just has to. They simply can't comprehend where to even begin with the idea of society breaking. They crave the predictability and repetition.
But at the same time the world IS different now then it was then in the past, drastically changing over every 10 years really. Yet somehow they can't see the changes as they occur because again they don't want their normal day to day self to be disrupted, so they can only comprehend the changes after they've ever so slowly been merged with their current lives.
2 more weeks just a jab at that silly war but has turned into another form of nothing ever happens.
