This has already been done with humans.
A few years ago celebrities traveled to some 3rd world country to get blood transfusions from young kids who agreed to it for the money. I think it was called "the young blood" program. Modern science tells us that these "caps" on our DNA are crucial, and as they get smaller via aging, the rate of cellular degradation increases... but then they also say that bigger/longer caps increase the rates of particular cancers.

I believe these caps were put in place to keep us from living longer all together, and that removing them entirely may just be the holy grail.
