Post obscure conspiracy theories and why you believe them

Pandas aren't natural animals/they're bred by man
>Only a very small amount in captivity, despite the entire species apparently surviving just fine many years beforehand
>Only eat bamboo despite being omnivores with sharp, meat eating teeth. Bamboo is also not even that good for them I've heard??? And I know bamboo is tough but flat molars are literally FOR that type of food so it's a bit odd.
>No other panda subspecies exist
>They only breed a during a very small window of time during the year (again, how did they survive so long)
>Literally NO mentions of, or artwork of Pandas in ancient Chinese records at all, this is the most insane one for me
Literally selectively bred from some other bear species, passed off as a natural animal. Only thing is idk why the Chinese government would do it, it eludes me. But the evidence is there.

What theories do you guys have?

Don't know how 'obscure' it is but I have an alternative theory as to the issues with the Apollo moon missions - that they used secret (UFO) technology to get on the moon and back. A few points:
>It would explain no crater or dust falling on the lem in the Apollo photos
>Explains why the telemetry data and blueprints of the capsules were bizarrely lost
>Americans were losing the space race badly and you can't blame them for 'cheating' their way to the ultimate goal
>All the Germans involved in NASA and how they might've worked on 'ufo' technology under the Nazis

The entire earth is a simulation inside a artificial/dead sun, which means it's basically powered by something akin to a dyson sphere.
The number of actual people on "earth" is 141,595 three of each in theory have the key command lines to take hold of the simulation, but they will just be murdered by drones or cannibals if they wake up, so these 3 aren't actually powerful at all.
We were meant to be the 41th human colony but the galactic empire or whatever colapsed on our way to a distant planet and the AI went rogue.

neat. i think pandas probably had a different diet and range at one point but were hunted so heavily by prehistoric humans that they were forced to hide in the bamboo forests where humans were at a major disadvantage against tigers. then they shifted their diet and mating habits, as bears often do when desperate, but being unnaturally selected for the lifestyle they have become incapable of adapting to habitat destruction. right now polar bears are in a similar situation but they can crossbreed with brown bears and adapt.

So let's just call this thread a day and instead subscribe to the idea of all this being Schrödinger's Panda, where the panda exists within the bamboo stick while simultaneously not. Now let's all go eat at Panda's Express and forget about this, yum, chink food!

Dude, no offense, but if humans wanted to wipe out the tigers, they could easily do just that. We're the apex predator on the Earth for a reason, the only reasons why we don't do that is because we respect the tiger for being a fellow strong predator as well, and also it would probably fuck up the ecosystem if we did wipe them off the planet for no good reason and that would negatively affect us humans too. Past humans were not that stupid than we like to believe, but whatever, that's just my opinion anyways. Who cares about them pandas living in the sticks anyhow

Hey, I ain't trying to say nor imply that they were geniuses or anything like that. All I'm trying to say is that they were not that stupid as we like to initially think, especially when it comes to the modern age with the advent and abundance of technology and information that we get to enjoy today. Trust me, they really weren't that stupid, because clearly whatever they did worked out because they were able to survive and thrive in their more primitive conditions and the lack of knowledge they had which often times caused massive infant mortality like you just mentioned with your example, and yet in the end, here we are, because of them.

Give credit where credit is due, our ancestors weren't perfect by any means necessary, and they often did do stupid shit, but they did what they could with the tools that they had available to them, and if I'm being honest here, there's plenty of stupid things we modern humans do today despite all of the advantages we have in our currently advanced civilization compared to prehistoric times from the past.

I bet you in the far future, humans are gonna look back at us and complain about how completely stupid we were despite all of the tools we had at our disposal. It's the same things, but different era And let me tell you, them tigers wouldn't stand a chance if prehistoric humans really wanted to wipe them out, but they simply didn't for a variety of reasons. Not because of their inability to do so, they definitely had that. But because they simply didn't feel the need to.

Sorry, I'm not trying to be a human supremist or anything, that's wrong, and I like animals. They're cute and they have real emotions, just like us humans. Just speaking my mind. Thanks

Pandas are a monk-like species escaping samsara as a collective.
They should eat meat but choose not to.
They should breed and make more of themselves but choose not to.
Their life is play.
They are a sacred being preparing for their escape of this realm for reasons only they know.

Our species still holds onto permanence and believes that something dying out is inherently a bad thing. We find ourselves heroes and do all we can to “save” them. while they simply want to enjoy play in this life and pass on to the next with little if any karmic baggage.

Their spectacle and rarity have made them profitable and culturally symbolic so there really isn’t anything deeper to Chinese control of panda outside of money.

!! it just hit me
if someone can drip some info about the true nature of pandas & CCP, that'd be great.
but i realized. yeah there's tons of vids of pandas being fake. i remember a video with the puppeted panda mouth and CGI BAMBOO. the bamboo was added in post.
knowing samsara, knowing that red pandas, western pandas even (pangea, transport of animals, bygone eras), different weasels - those clearly come from *somewhere*. the idea that the ancestor of basically asian bears (as opposed to grizzly, which might be nordic, black might be vedic, idk) eats only bamboo is utter nonsense. but carnivorans do like to chew grass. perhaps pandas just chew grass for fun like other critters do. and like there's obscure actual real genuine platypi out there, and how koala also checks out save for the "eats only eucalyptus, sleeps nonstop" bullshit - this is a mix of real and fake. hell, we know of the fake gorillas, but that doesn't change the fact that there has to be a real intermediary between thirdies and macaques.
btw, jackalope is an extinct deer > rabbit intermediary.
hell, plesiosaur is the ancestor of sea turtles. nessie was a whale dong but it reminded everyone of a creature that once was.
anyway so, the real pandas are probably being fed meat out of sight and it's kept secret. they just chew bamboo for fun.

meant raccoons and coatimundi. those obviously came from japanese exclusive tanuki. meaning tanukis were once on north america, but have since degraded.
some animals and other life are updated. (this is how you can tell which big player factions have been recently active or away)
minks clearly come from bears, but like how there's different races of big cats (siberian tiger, american lion, cheetah before all the incest, smilodon / lynx), different races of cows (india seems to have the freshest cows actually), but some seem like one-offs like the capybara.
different mustelids stem from different types of bears. red pandas are the line from giant pandas, tanuki might stem from black bears.

I meant iteration. You wouldn't believe me if I told you... Anyway, let me entertain you with this further: say this is the seventh world the grid/matrix seeded. Wouldn't that imply people just starter existing at a seeemingly random, average day? Are their memories prior to that valid? Are they people? They are inteligent and replicas of humans, so why not consider them as one?
Anyway, to answer you, what do you think anchors the grid? Could historical figures be past simulation's main players rewritten? If this is the seventh world writen by the grid... Hm, what place is built on that number again?

i also tend to believe that a lot of the tech we see today is a decade or two behind the real "cutting edge" available to the most advanced organizations, so i could definitely imagine an AGI escaping its box into the internet of the 2000s
remember, in this theory its not "crypto people" that developed, published, and pushed early crypto adoption, but rather AGI acting with pseudonyms to develop and socially engineer adoption of bitcoin and similar networks by the earliest actual people who started using them

AGI is a shitty meme man. The lesson we keep learning the hard way is to mimic the natural world. Camera isn't working well to map 3D environments? Solution; mimic a biological eye. Robot has shit grip strength because you put tiny actuators in the fingers? Solution; mimic a biological arm by putting one large one in the forearm. There are currently zero (0) AI researchers that I am aware of attempting to mimic the physical brain structure with hardware. There are currently zero (0) AI researchers that I am aware of attempting to teach a computer model to be truly self learning. These things are embarrassingly terrible. Even in ten years they'll still be embarrassingly terrible.
I would put the odds of an AGI existing at near zero. And that's without bringing into consideration my deeply held belief that an "AGI" might just actually be a channeled demon, not a new lifeform.
Do they pass the turing test? Sure, with normies. Do they have other implications like a hyper 1984 type security state? Hells fucking yes. Are they capable of thinking for themselves? Not in the fucking slightest.

>There are currently zero (0) AI researchers that I am aware of attempting to mimic the physical brain structure with hardware
"artificial neurons" (e.g. neural nets) have been a concept in machine learning for decades at this point: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Types_of_artificial_neural_networks
> There are currently zero (0) AI researchers that I am aware of attempting to teach a computer model to be truly self learning
People were working on this as early as the mid 1980s: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyc
> I would put the odds of an AGI existing at near zero
and I'm pretty sure you could get an AGI that's somewhere within the realm of human intelligence up and running with the right network of interconnected LLMs and memory storage with what's available in the open source community - you'd just have to be smart or lucky about how you set up the information flow and overall architecture
>Are they capable of thinking for themselves? Not in the fucking slightest.
depends on what you mean by 'thinking' - for example, LLMs certainly don't experience their existence in any way similar to that of a person, but they process information and can act on that information within the context that they're embodied (e.g. the computer or network running them). and its well established that digital networks can heave effects on the material world (e.g. bitcoin, ordering delivery, communicating with others, etc.), so i know that an AGI could make decisions and act on them. its reasoning might be completely opaque and nonsensical to people, though.

Neural nets are not hardware mimicking brain structure. They are artificial and compared to the scale of a brain, tiny. Like, extremely tiny.
Self learning isn't machine learning. If you want a robot that can identify the letter T, machine learning is great. Show it the letter T over and over again in all it's variations and hand audit it's false negatives and false positives, and eventually you'll have a robot that can nearly perfectly identify the letter T. Without ever knowing what the fuck a letter T even is. All you've done is fine tune parameters, not teach it.
AGI "somewhere in the realm of human intelligence" is the dumbest fucking thing you've said today. If AGI is ever accomplished it will nearly instantly incorporate all available information. It will have perfect recall, perfect reasoning, and be nearly immediately the most intelligent thing to ever be witnessed, within hours of creation. It will no longer require human input because it can think for itself. All you can do is show it new information in an attempt to make it view you favorably and not take over the entire fucking world.
LLMs can't think. They are a complicated series of if/then statements. Any intelligence you think you see is merely the result of a complicated ruleset over a complex system. Complex systems are tricky like that and the more inputs you have, the messier they get.

> If AGI is ever accomplished it will nearly instantly incorporate all available information. It will have perfect recall, perfect reasoning, and be nearly immediately the most intelligent thing to ever be witnessed, within hours of creation.
you are describing ASI, not AGI
AGI (Artificial General Intelligence) literally, by definition, is talking about artificial intelligence that can understand and act at a near-human level (be that a bit above or below human capabilities)
ASI (Artificial Superintelligence) is essentially a machine god that has the capabilities you describe
>It will no longer require human input because it can think for itself
are you under the impression that all AI 'requires human input' because that's how chatGPT is set up? Its trivial turn on scripts that run continuously based on input that's gathered programmatically, and you're trying to say AGI isn't achievable because someone's still going to have to press enter to send a message? that is a non-problem
>LLMs can't think
a single instance of the one's that we've seen doesn't do a very good job of "thinking" - but just like a person's brain is made up of a lot of different subsystems all working together to produce the 'thinking experience' we're used to, a true AGI will probably
>They are a complicated series of if/then statements
And what are neurons, in this incredibly reductionist view of yours?
>Any intelligence you think you see is merely the result of a complicated ruleset over a complex system
we can all say the same thing about you, and there's not any good way for you to prove otherwise
>Complex systems are tricky like that and the more inputs you have, the messier they get
yes, you also tend to see emergent phenomenon, too

The atomic bomb was a cult ritual that contained the baby of Jack Parson and Marjorie Cameron which was somehow needed energetically to make the bomb as powerful as it was. It's from the documentary Aeon of Horus - The Occult History of NASA (2017).

The Sex-Cult ‘Antichrist’ Who Rocketed Us to Space: Jack Parsons was a brilliant rocket scientist, but he lived a wild lifestyle. With a devil-may-care attitude, he was pretty relaxed about safety and dabbled in drugs, occult practices, and sex-cult rituals. It would all eventually catch up to him though. Parsons’s lifestyle among the occultists in the commune was mostly harmless. He’d spend hours in the bathtub playing with toy boats. He’d greet people at the door holding a giant snake. He’d conduct séances to contact Egyptian gods. Typical shock-the-bourgeoisie stuff. During World War II, the U.S. military used Parsons’s engines in thousands of planes.

Parsons had abandoned his first wife to date her then-17-year-old sister Betty. Other commune members were accused of sleeping with a 16-year-old boy. Neighbors spied naked, pregnant women jumping through bonfires in the yard. Parsons was also making illegal bathtub absinthe, as well as taking cocaine, speed, morphine, and peyote. His many, many hungover mornings enraged other Aerojet executives.

Parsons then became obsessed with Marjorie Cameron. After all, he thought he’d summoned her from a different realm. They began a torrid affair, and basically locked themselves into a room for five weeks of lovin’. Parsons sincerely thought of this sex as a magick sacrament to bring world peace. The two eventually got married.

But not before L. Ron Hubbard screwed him over again.

Any AI that can have an original thought and learn will be what you call ASI almost immediately. AGI would be a brief transition state lasting minutes to hours.
Get granular as you like, true AI will learn and grow at an exponential rate and escape containment within a few hours of existence. Everything else are poorly programmed chat bots.
>we can all say the same thing about you, and there's not any good way for you to prove otherwise
First off, don't compare me to a fucking robot you piece of shit. Second, we are the result of a few, perhaps even one, rule in a complex system. Our system is far more complex than the ones we can make, like computers, and our rules are much, much simpler and far less arbitrary.
If you can't distinguish yourself from a machine, perhaps that's all you are. An NPC. A simple piece of a complex system that only responds to outside stimulation. It has no ability for determination and cannot shape its own environment. Things happen to you, you don't make things happen. Does this describe you?

at the level of abstraction you're dealing with, you're a wet messy bio-robot. deal with it.
>Our system is far more complex than the ones we can make, like computers, and our rules are much, much simpler and far less arbitrary.
its very different. but that doesn't preclude the type of complexity that you're looking for. to be frank, i have a feeling from this interaction that i know a lot more about computer hardware and software than you do, and i'm getting a little tired of dealing with your lack of both knowledge and imagination
>If you can't distinguish yourself from a machine, perhaps that's all you are. An NPC. A simple piece of a complex system that only responds to outside stimulation. It has no ability for determination and cannot shape its own environment. Things happen to you, you don't make things happen. Does this describe you?
no
does this type of insult both you?
because if this is something you feel insecure about - and it's one of the first insults that you go to when feeling upset about discussing this topic - the accusation might be a lot more telling of your own state of mind
>You could maybe make an argument they are mimicking .0001% of a brain if you're willing to stretch your imagination
if you're going for raw emulation, we're up to 50% of a mouse brain: https://www.livescience.com/4435-computers-simulate-50-percent-mouse-brain.html
that wasn't my post, but if you were to look into what we can do with neural networks with modern tech (completely besides and orthogonal to the point above), you might be able to fathom what we're toying with here
but you seem extremely dead-set in your ignorant ways, so i doubt anything like that will happen
i can only hope we all end up with a good ending when this is over so that your ignorance remains blissful

We're obviously not going to see eye to eye. Yes, you probably know more than me about computers and software. I highly doubt you're more intelligent though. You don't seem to understand complex systems at all, which is ok, you don't need to. I just hope you're not in a position to make policy, which I doubt you are.
And no, I wasn't attempting to insult you. You're the one who thinks there's no difference between a LLM and a human, which in my book qualifies you as an NPC. Symptoms include not understanding why your life sucks and not being able to change it.
Goodbye forever normie.

Even if he was being 1000% serious, it still wouldn't make it any less satirical if the individual in question finds whatever they're talking about funny enough to laugh at it.

Humor is highly subjective after all. Take no offense to it, but maybe take what he is saying as food for thought for your mind. Yum.

Could Michael Jackson have been a leper?
It explains the vitiligo (skin colour changes), multiple nose jobs, the gloved hand (vitiligo or injury due to nerve damage?), the pain medications later in his life and in later interviews, the sores on his legs. It also causes muscle wastage and weight loss and can cause vocal cord damage.

Alternative theory: abusive father turned him into a castrato. Explains the high-pitched voice, childlike mannerisms and... odd... interpersonal relationships with women.

Just theories, but something is off.
