For those of who you had brief seasons in your life where you got to know God through direct experiences, visions, the supernatural, etc, how do you deal with long seasons of spiritual dryness? The more time that passes as you endure a season of spiritual dryness, the more likely you start to question your experiences as being possibly fake and not really from God. Memories fade. It is comforting to know that even saints and mystics speak of long periods of "spiritual dryness" after visions, but still, this spiritual dryness, it's like Hell. The joy of direct experiences of God makes every hobby, every activity pale in comparison. I've tried hours and hours of endless prayer in my nearby chapel, I leave feeling a little relaxed like I meditated but feel spiritually empty. Feels like I'm just waiting to die and enter Heaven, craving experiences with God again but not getting them.

Sounds like you're lacking internal motivation and meaning outside of the divine.
I don't know how to define that for you, could always seek, you might find.

God is probably wanting you to do something in the world, which you probably wouldn't bother with if you were just to enter into a state of perpetual beatitude right now.

Please avoid this kind of spiritual gooning in the future. It will only breed emptiness and resentment. By all means pray, but don't go into it expecting to "achieve states". Trust that He will get in touch with you when he deems it necessary and bemeficial. Go about your business, in tranquility.

Whats going on is theres a lesson you need to learn that required you to be alone to learn it.
As soon as you learn the lesson you can suddenly realize you never left the water.
