The problem I had with Seekers was it shot its shot too early. The third arc really should've been the first. Also, the spiritual justification for child rape was a little cringe. Sticking with Vertigo, Jerry Prosser's run on Animal Man is unfairly ignored. It can be a bit wordy, but is /x/ as fuck.

If you want more obscure, check out Villa of the Mysteries by Mack White. Old school Texan conspiracy stuff, real big on the Branch Davidians.

Basically his dad molested him as a kid, but it's okay because it contributed to his spiritual awakening. Turns out the dad didn't want to, but it was part of the grand design.

If you can handle the boomer nostalgia, most of Kim Deitch's stuff with Waldo is pretty good. Waldo is, variously, a cartoon, a demon, a reincarnated Judas, an egregore, an asshole.

Men of taste here on /x/. You should also check out Highbone Theater. Very funny graphic novel by Joe Daly about 9/11, esoteric consciousness, and talking to normies.

I just bought all the Viz issues of this. I don't like how he draws noses, but I'm excited to read it all. I also got the first two Striker (aka Spriggan) runs.

>Animal Man

People tend to disregard everything that came after Morrison (probably in large part bc Morrison himself seemed kinda pissed that they kept it going after he finished his run) but imo it does go to some really interesting places, much more successfully than Swamp Thing after Moore's run ended (which is the comic it gets compared to most). That being said it's been at least 15 years since I've read it.

Speaking of which, Swamp Thing is classic /x/ (Moore's run specifically)

I really feel like Morrison's run is overrated, too. I think the Invisibles is one of the greatest comics ever, but his tun on Animal Man and Doom Patrol don't quite hold up. They're not terrible, but the main thing they both had going for them was being different and introducing new ideas into comics.

i will call this thread /cox/, because it sounds like cock (lol)

Agreed, there's some interesting metafictional elements in his Animal Man run but nothing compared to all the chaos magick, lsd & aliens stuff he brings into Invisibles. Also I guess people find the stuff about veganism heartfelt but that isn't exactly /x/

With The Invisibles the most common criticism one might have is that it's constantly veering back & forth between being a more conventional narrative comic and some kind of total psyhedelic experiment, but if you go into it with the same mindset Morrison seemed to have writing it (ie actively using the writing process as a magical ritual) that shouldn't be an issue

Great idea. I don't have any good one on my mind, just old scifi stuff I enjoyed reading.
Recently I downloaded picrel but I haven't read it yet. From the title it seems /x/ related.

Hans Rickheit seems like he became a cartoonist instead of being a serial killer.

I really like the Milligan issues. Feels like a good epilogue for Morrison's run, very /x/ with CIA Monarch mind control and high strangeness

Been looking for this comic but it's disappeared off the internet
