Jesters/Clowns/Tricksters/Harlequins
Thread to discuss anything relating to Jesters or adjacent. Ideally relating to the Occult or the Paranormal
-What is the best embodiment of the trickster/jester archetype that humans have made?
-Drug related sightings of jesters/elves
-Are Juggalos a modern Dionysian cult? and how based are they?
-Symbology relating to mirth, comedy, and wit.
-Opinions on Jesters/clowns

The more I think about it, the more I like the idea of creating a jester outfit as a ritual garb. To use it while meditating, charging sigils, preforming rituals, or reveling.
Not only does it channel the archetype of the jester/trickster from the human psyche, but jesters are incredibly charged with energy and symbolism, partially through them being so engrained with human experience, they appear in many different forms but sill retain shared characteristics across the earth, but also because they appear frequently in dreams, visions, or while tripping on certain substances. People find them both funny, thought provoking, scary, or strange, they illicit strong emotions. My idea is that Taking on the appearance and role of a jester while engaging with the esoteric will allow me to approach anything that I do with a mindful and open playfulness.
The memetic power that the jester represents will allow me to explore the deeper facets with a mirthful and laissez-faire attitude, my mind no longer hampered by the rigid worry of convention or the scorn of others. It will encourage me to dive deep while still keeping my wits about me. Like water off a ducks back, the troubles and unnecessary negative energy will not pass through my mirth. I specifically enjoy some jester/harlequin/clown garbs for their use of checkerboard patterns, the repeating dark and light checkers representing both duality and infinity incredibly well despite being so simple.

The fool.
On a surface level.
In a positive light typically represents youth, Adventure, Idealism, Leaps of faith, Spontaneity
In a negative light it typically represents, Naïveté, Foolishness, Recklessness.

In genuine simple curiosity and wonder there is a wisdom. I view the fool as aspirational in some ways, the rejection of cynicism and eagerness to keep moving. When ones psyche is the tool that we interact in the world with, both materially and spiritually, worry is a course sand that dulls its sharpness. One CAN plan and think deeply, but if you let doubt and fear consume you stagnation is short to follow.
