The problem with video games and choosing them is because people have been deprived of the opportunity to lead a full life in reality, and any kind of rest requires money, which is obtained if you are exploited, an eternal wheel of oppression.
Any available cheap addictions are a way to relax and occupy the mind from a life that is unpleasant to us, and if it consists almost entirely of shit... here is the result.
When there are no alternatives - and you either sell yourself to someone for money in order to make him even richer in the hope of compensating for this with imaginary goals and status consumption, or you end up on the sidelines with a reputation as a loser who "has achieved nothing", whiling away the rest of your life with the little that is available.
With the latter, you belong more to yourself than to someone else, but are deprived of the opportunities that money gives.
And yes, just imagine if the law allowed you to go into the forest, make (your own) a house out of logs on a plot of land and live there - without any punishments, permits or taxes... how many "losers" would immediately be able to solve the problem of not having a personal home, for which they would never be able to save up money given the prices, but which they could make themselves, but they are not allowed to?
