Is the Clippy profile picture thing a ritual or something?

The official narrative is it is a protest against YouTube and other sites and their crappiness. But it feels weird. Not creepy, just weird. Like the JD Vance pfp thing. Feels like Dead Internet 'Theory'.

It's about the botting on YouTube. Bot accounts spam links to shady websites and scams while having csam profile pictures within a second of any video that gets uploaded.
People don't necessarily want to have a profile picture but if they leave it blank, quite often their comments get flagged as bot comments and removed automatically as well.
This in spite of the fact that having no profile picture at all is better than what the bot accounts have.

Louis Rossman suggested that clippy just wants to help and that people should all take clippy as a profile pic.
It was an add-in helper as part of Office that wouldn't stop bugging you with suggestions and offers for help, but at least that's all it did.
It's got nothing to do with the dead internet "hurr all the bots have the same picture" theory.
It's about YouTube failing to do enough to prevent spam, scam and csam on its own platform.
It'll probably get to the point where you can only make an account with digital ID and could make slave accounts if you want but only if they're tied to a verified digital ID master account.

I think it's a test. Everyone hated Clippy but if you're too young to remember that and believe the YouTube essays (that are ironically pushed by the algorithm) telling you to take a stance and change your pfp, then you mark yourself as both underage and sheepish.

As far as I know, it's been mostly people posting about YouTube's retarded AI age verification process that would ask for your ID, video or credit card, which they can store for 2 years, as well as total information/internet control from corpos, glowies, and the powers that be!

From Louis Rossmann, he's been talking more about creating a wiki exposing every single time a business or corporation has sold a faulty-on-purpose product that requires you to connect to the internet when you don't need to so your data can be collected or various scummy ways they can make you pay them more money, all while rallying everyone to spread the word with the clippy pfp to win the cultural battle and show the higher ups that everyone is tired of the bullshit. For now, it's an ongoing project with support from subscribers and his employees. The fact that this guy has told his followers to never trust anyone, not even him, and that he has no sponsers (the one time he did was about shitting on LG for forcing your private data to be shared) makes him more credible as a person than most influencers lmao.

Enforces accountability and actual enforcement of fair rules.

For now it ignores people who used email to sign up, likely because those are hard-integrated into the Google ecosystem. so they'd always know who you are, and they'd risk a lawsuit for mass-resetting everyone's credentials
