I thought about this after rewatching season 1 of American Horror Story. In that season, the characters are dead all the time, but they don't realize it. They continue to live their "lives," talking, eating, arguing... until one day they discover they can't leave their house.

Yes, I understand... and maybe that's precisely the greatest trick of this place. Actually, I have a question: human beings, in general, live in the third dimension, while the dead are in the fourth dimension, since they are nothing more than consciousness and no longer need a physical body. But I tell myself that, perhaps, the real human beings are in reality those who are in the fourth dimension... and that we, here, would be the dead of the third dimension. It is a little strange to formulate, but I have the impression that, in this world that we call "alive", we are in fact the real dead, because we ignore the illusion while those who are called "dead" are in reality awake, therefore truly alive.

Try doing something dynamic.
If you commute everywhere, try walking to and from your destination. Use a different route or do something random in between.
Or if you know a place with lots of books, read a completely random one.

If things dont feel "solid" or you feel like youre being prevented from doing unusual but harmless actions, then somethings wrong.

I have a lot of evidence that suggests that I am alive.
I don't know how it is to be dead, so of course i can not be 100 percent certain, because i don't know how it is to be dead.
Life is as usual, so either I was never alive, or i am still alive or death is not much different than life.
When I talk to people strangers and people i know for a time, nothing suggests I died or that they are just NPCs on repeat.

So judging from all the evidence I can reasonably conclude that I am alive.
At least this is the most probable conclusion from my personal experience and reasoning.

I'm pretty sure I'm either dead already or cursed with my life force intertwined with my cats. Because, that fucking creature is closing in on thirty years now. She looks as though she hasn't aged fully past adulthood, no matted fur primordial pouch is still tight and flat. Just constantly running as though nothings wrong. That cat isn't normal.

I planned to reply at least three times after seeing you spent a lot of question marks in your post. You don't necessarily need to do or say anything, I can explain a lot just looking at where you might be. Without feedback it is hard to say any good was done, but trying anyway kind of does improve the multiverse in my current beliefs.
